Question about changing Gamertag

I want to make my gamertag to the name I have for every other social media site.

I want to change it to: Lone Marine

It said it was taken, but when I searched the gamertag, the user's tag was:
LONE MARINE (all caps)

It's obvious that the gamertag that I desire is not in all capitals.

Is there any way I can get my gamertag changed to "Lone Marine"?

Questions about changing gamertag

I want to change my gamertag. Been searching forums for a while and just want some clarification please.

1. Will my microsoft points and achievements dissapear if I change gamertag?

2. Will my game saves dissapear if I change my gamertag?

3. Will any downloaded content have to be re-purchased since purchases were made on the old tag?

I am sure the answers are here somewhere. Thankyou for any insight

Questions about changing gamertag

1) MS Points, Gold subscription time, saved games, online ranking, in-game progress, downloaded content, and everything else WILL REMAIN THE SAME as before. Only the name will be different.

BTW, just out of courtesy, you should send a message to everyone on your friends list informing them of the name change. Otherwise, they may not know who this new name is.

Since gamertags are not case sensitive this is not possible (sending messages, searching profile can both be done by full caps or no caps)

For example, I could find your profile by either one of these ways

en-US/Profile?gamerTag=LONE+MARINES

en-US/Profile?gamerTag=LOne+MariNES

en-US/Profile?gamerTag=Lone+Marines

(couldn't paste full link because it would get shortened)

Same goes for trying to search your GT to send a message to

Mr Difo

through customer support they should be able to change the tag to what you desire as long as it fits their personal criteria. xbox has one of the best gamertag systems to date with lots of freedom

It may be because someone already has the gamer tag. I went into the "Find Someone" section on xbox and searched for "Soku" and got 50 results. If this is the case you will be unable to change your gamertag. Maybe try S0uk with a zero and not an o.

I believe if you are banned the GT name is forfeit.

Hello, thanks for the reply as well. So you're saying that "Soku" is trademarked by a company? If so, does "" still count as it being trademarked?
