    Question about adding extra HDD for storage


    I've been looking into adding extra storage space as I'm 90% capacity, and I have both GTA and FC4 to install. Are there HDD that work better than others (brand wise), are there specs that work better (7200 vs 5400 rpm). I thought I read somewhere about
    HDD "backup" drives vs HDD that are expansion specific drives. Appreciate any input.

    Are you talking about Xbox 360 games, or original Xbox games? Neither the 4GB internal flash storage nor the USB storage counts as an Xbox HDD, so you would not be able to use the Backwards Compatibility feature without adding the 250GB HDD (or buying
    the 250GB console in the first place).

    But the 4GB plus USB storage will work for general Xbox 360 stuff, such as game saves, DLC (if it fits in the storage you have available), even installing games "to HDD", which can be installed to (large-enough) USB storage.

    Onedrive is Microsoft's cloud storage service for things like photos and should not use the consoles internal memory.

    If your consoles internal drive is full it is very easy to expand it by adding an external hard drive to the console, please see attached link for details about adding extra memory to the console.

    "The basic requirements for storing games and apps on an external drive are:

    Has capacity of 256 GB or more, and

    Uses USB 3.0."

    As long as its USB 3 you're golden really. The "faster" the RPM the higher data transfer speeds you'll get.

    The "backup" drives you refer to tend to be slower (rpm) devices, not meant for everyday frequent use.

    This is very interesting news..didn't know that the 360 could use large external drives.

    I knew about attaching flash drives for added storage, but not actual HDDs.

    It'll be very handy for extra space..need to look into this, get a new drive I reckon.

    Without details we cant knoe

    There are some xbox 360s without hdds

    You can also buy an usb hdd for extra storage

    Keep in mind you can check capacity under system and storage

    The minimun is 4 gigs if I remember correctly

    I already did that it doesn't work.

    And no it isn't corrupted, me and my dad checked the hard drive and it was working fine.

    But i have a feeling its because of my internet that the full library isn't loading. But again it's guess
