    Quest 2 VR with XBox


    Is it possible to software upgrade the XBox S/X/One to work with VR, for example the Quest 2 headset I've just bought (instead of a new X-Box)

    And if it is, will MS be considering doing so and re-evaluating their position on the future of VR, especially since the VR future is already here.

    I've only used the Quest2 for a short period of time, but I'm in no doubt it's infinity superior than sitting in front of a flat screen. VR is immersive, exciting, scary (dinosaurs & giant alien spiders) interactive and way better for your health.

    I've already started designing a mechatronic walking rig which should allow you to run,walk, go up steps and crouch etc, you could also use the same principle to stop people walking and putting their hands through virtual objects.

    The VR future is here, is MS?

    i'm assuming you mean VR glasses, the answer is no on Xbox, yes on PC for VR

    You'll have to decide that starting with how much you want to spend. Cheapest solution is an oculus quest 2

    NonVR goggles are compatible with Xbox

    VR requires a PC

    You can stream your Xbox to the goggles on the PC

    If you want standalone VR, then you need to buy a Quest 2

    Why would you buy both an S and a CV1?

    only if you connect the quest 2 to pc with the usb c cable as the quest 2 internal computer is not powerful enough to run it.

    i have played it with the rift s on pc, brilliant views in vr.

    it has a large following on pc and ps4/5. VR is awsome and there are thousands of descent games available. i own psvr, oculus quest 2 and index. absolute brilliance. hell blade senua's sacrafice is awsome in VR on steam.
