    i got an xbox series x and was going to download sea of thieves and update call of duty so once i put sea of thieves downloading and cod on que i put my xbox in rest and usually when i do this the games still installs and updates so i came back a few hours later to check it i started my xbox up and i seen the sea of thieves gonna from the downloads and cod almost done updating go to play sea of thieves the game not there so i go back and try installing it again this time i cleared some of my storage with stuff installed im not using and made sure everything is updated it was fine so i left again had to leave home come back installing stopped i check the game no were to be found and when i go to the game page it says install i tried it again and this time i just wait a few minutes and when came back the game is install was canceled and it never did this before

    Game Auto Update issues

    GUNNER 26: Are your games on disc or are they digital downloads?

    If your games are on disc the xbox will download the patch in standby mode, but wont install the update untill you put the disc in and load the game. This is normal.

    If your games are digital it will (should) download AND install the update whilst in standby.

    Even with instant on turned on, when you turn the xbox off it is going to go into standby mode. This includes power not going to the wireless adapter anymore. If you are wanting to install a game or any other content, you must leave the console on and not

    If you have a high download usage then your system is most likely set to instant-on. This will put the system in a standby mode instead of actually turning it off when pressing the powerbutton. In this standby mode it will make sure that your games stay
    updated etc.
