Purple shiny thing

I notice recently these pieces will drop that glows purple. I try picking them up but every time I hear I have no more Even tho my inventory is not full. My question is what are they and way I can't pick them up? Thanks

What's 'not possible'? I wanted to give my avatar purple hair so it DID represent me bc I dyed my hair purple. But you can't do purple hair except 1 hair thing that looks stupid to me.

 

MW3 - anyone else a little worried by what they have seen so far?

They are blood shards...you must have 500 already...you can only hold 500...spend them with Kadhla.

 

Thats what I thought at first, so I made sure I wasn't at 500. Next time one droped all I heard was can't carry that right now or no room. It's a bottle symbol that glows purple.
