Pure Pool: Good billiards simulator, but the AI is a shark

Pure Pool is a really nice game overall, with excellent graphics, great billiard physics simulation, great controls, and a cool jazz soundtrack (through only a single album). The online component is interesting in that if you can't find a real person then
you can try a "DNA" version of someone's gameplay, which is a simulation of their game play style. I put quite a bit of time into this game when it launched in 2014. The base game is limited to 8-ball, 9-ball, and variants of that. The Snooker Pack is DLC
and costs extra. I never tried that DLC because it came out after I already moved on from the game.

But there is a problem: If you want to run through the league programme, moving up the ranks against stronger and stronger AI players, there comes a point when you realize that the AI is just "toying with you". That is, the AI is a pool shark. It already
knows how to shoot a perfect game; What makes it appear fair to you is that it has to pull back its skills and miss a shot or two. What will happen in latter stages is that as you get better and better it will start playing ruthlessly good, shooting perfect
games, save for maybe one miss. And if you cannot exploit that one miss then you will lose the round. The AI reacts dynamically to your success/failure ratio, so if you are having a really bad game, then it will adjust its game and start making "mistakes"
to compensate. But if you go from bad to good in one round, surely you will see it turn brutally accurate. It got to a point where I had to give up trying because I knew that the only way I could succeed is to shoot a perfect game, and in a best-of-five I
would have to shoot first.
