Pure chess local game with two controllers

Pure Chess is decent, but i recommend Chess
Ultra.

This is the best chess game you can get on xbox one:

Chess Ultra

It has tutorial, local and online multiplayer, comes with all sort of puzzles and the graphics are just great.

When I search the Xbox marketplace, it shows up but does not appear to have a download or purchase option. That may mean that it is unavailable for purchase entirely.

Are you using a Xbox One console? If so, Chess Ultra and Pure Chess are possible substitutes. I do not know how they compare but they may be the best options you can get on Xbox One.

If you're on Xbox 360, it appears that Spyglass Chess would be your best alternative.

No, it would not. There would be no board and no pieces for the board. You would be moving your arms around trying to aim for a place in mid-air in which the sensor realizes the piece that you want to grab. Then you have to think about how precise the
hardware is. We've already learned with the Go-Kart Recliner that Kinect isn't precise. So I would imagine that it would be difficult to pinpoint a piece to grab and move. In real life, it's a quick and easy grab and place. There's no aiming. There's
no frustration.

Oh and BTW, Hand movements are not what makes the "Chess Experience." Playing chess on a controller or keyboard/mouse has never made me think "Damn, wish I had the real thing here..." So if you're playing via game console/computer, yes buttons are more
practical.

I've played chess on a board and on my PC but I'd rather be playing the former. If Kinect could help blur the two then that would be a definite plus in its favour for me.
