Purchasing Xbox 360 games digitally, on my Xbox One

I have two Xbox Live Accounts. On my main account, I can get Red Dead Redemption for around 7 pounds. However, when i go to buy it, it says something like: "This purchase can't be made from xbox.com please make this purchase from your xbox" yet I'm doing
all this from my Xbox. I switch to my other account and i am able to make the purchase, but it is more expensive as there is no deal with gold, furthermore there is no billing info on the second account.

How can I make the purchase from my Xbox One on my primary account? Or at all?

just remember your only buying a licence to use said game, they can actually remove the game or stop support or make it inoperable after 3 - 4 years, disc based games are the same, you only own a licence to use the software but with discs they will still
be available even if the software gets pulled.

what do yo guys recommend doing? buying the hard copy or using the digital download to have the game linked to your account forever?

Sounds like your first account is under the age of 18. Is this true? If so, you will not be able to purchase it from that account as Child/Teen accounts do not have the ability to purchase backwards compatible games from an Xbox One.

Hi iBizzarz,

First and foremost Xbox 360 games are not yet allowed to be purchased using an Xbox One console (with the exemption of Games with Gold ofcourse).

If you're also using your Microsoft Money in purchasing any Xbox 360 games, you may get that error.

We can also take SPS's reply into consideration as this error message that you got will only appear to Child/Teen accounts.

The only work around for this is to get the games using an Xbox 360 console.

One thing you can also consider is to purchase using the Parent account (including the subscription) and set it as the "my Home Xbox" account to enable Games and Gold sharing.

Two things first home gold doesn't work with 360 games that's only a xbox one feature

Second currency cannot be used on 360 games unless you use a xbox 360

And yes the forementioned error is that he is a child account and only an parental account with gold not home gold will have to make the purchase for him

Xbox had several promotions regarding Minecraft on Xbox 360 and getting the digital copy for Xbox One if you purchased it on Xbox 360 if you purchased your game digitally during this game promotional. The game should show up in your ready to install games
on Xbox One
