    Purchasing with Microsoft credit and migrating account


    I used this account when I stayed in the US for a couple months and bought Microsoft Credit (the gift card things) from a store to be able to download a couple games that were on sale. I came back to Canada (where I live) and I (stupidly) migrated my account
    as well. Now I can't purchase anything with this account because I don't have a credit card or paypal linked but if I look on the account page here, it shows me the amount of money I have left over. What do I do now?

    Has anyone else got $6.00 free from microsoft on 360?

    I was going to purchase a few games from xbox live on my 360 and I went to add a credit card and saw that for some reason that microsoft put $6.00 into my microsoft account and thought that was just from the rewards program. But I happen to check another account on my xbox 360 that i didn't even use the rewards program with and have just purchase one game with that account and it also has $6.00 in that account also is Microsoft given out $6.00 to us or what is the deal?

    Probably a stupid question

    If you are purchasing Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One you have to use a credit card or Paypal. You cannot use a pre-existing balance on your Microsoft account. If you want to use that balance, then you need to purchase it on the Xbox 360 first.

    Hi folding make sure your account is up to date as well. Even after migrating you still have to make sure your country matches on your account. There is probably an error in your account that is preventing you from using the money.

    Could you elaborate on what you mean? Do I have to change the billing address and everything as well?

    It's not an error. When you migrate your account region, currency does not migrate with you. The currency is still on your account, but as US currency. You would have to migrate your account back to the US region in order to use the money.
