    First time posting, so appologies if this issue has been neaten to death or I am In the wrong area for posting.

    Title says most of it. I am looking at buying a used xbox one from a gentleman in town here, it is the cod aw edition. He already downloaded the game, ie used the promo code. So I assume the download is exclusive to the account, not the console. And
    if so is there any way for me to get it once I login with my gamertag (and likely reset all his info?)

    I vaguely understand the licence transfer function, how much trust does that require? he may be done with xbox so would I just make my new xbox his home xbox and then I can download it from im or something.

    Basically I want the game but dont want either of us in an awkward position where we have access to eachothers credit cards or personal information from here on.

    How do i upgrade 360 versions of battlefield 4 and COD Ghost to the xbox one?

    Ive Googled this and cant find a definitive answer(or im too stupid to see it)

    I have COD Ghosts and Battlefield 4 for the 360 but have just purchased an Xbox one. Do i have to sell the 360 versions and buy the Xbox one version or is there an upgrade for these? They were both purchased from tesco if that has any bearing on it.I have seen a $9.99 USA upgrade but thats only for versions purchased from certain US retailers as far as i can see.

    With the One, he would have to leave your console set as his Home console in order for you to have access to the game. That would also mean you would automatically download anything else he purchases in the future. It would also mean that if he gets a new
    One, he would not be able to share games with anyone else on that console. If he were to set a different console as his Home console, you would then lose access to the game.

    It would be best for you to purchase the game separately either on disc or on your account.

    If I buy cod advanced warfare for xbox one can I get the dlcs which I paid for on 360 on the xbox one
    Unfortunately you can not. Because the copy you purchased is the Xbox One version of the game and is different from the Xbox 360 version of the game, even thought their the same game, they are different versions.

    There are a few Games that allowed a free Upgrade if someone purchased the Xbox 360 then later got an Xbox One. CoD Ghost and BF4 come to mind that had this as well (I believe).

    It's too bad it doesn't work the other way though. If I would have known I would have purchased the Xbox 360 versions and then DL'd the Xbox One versions for free. If someone purchased those on Xbox One, well that's what they get, the Xbox One version.

    My game isin need of a transfer but it's pre-ordered

    The xbox one is NOT backwards compatible, in order to play COD on your xbox one you will have to purchase the Xbox One version!

    As far as I know there is still the digital upgrade offer available best check the official COD site for details on that but it basically means that you get the Xbox one version at a heavy discount.

    What is the game in question?

    Are you sure you purchased it via the account your signed in with ?

    Have you downloaded the correct version for the game you bought?

    For eg CoD BO : cold war has 2 versions: an xbox one and a xbox series x version.

    But it is possible to play the xbox one version on the series x via backward compatibility.
