Purchasing something from xbox.com remotely

It was my understanding that if I am on xbox.com I can click a game, add-on whatever, purchase it, and it queues it up to my xbox one (similar to how the 360 works)

My problem is I was also under the impression from what I have read that if my xbox one is in low power mode it will download the game automatically for me so it's there when I get home - just like the background system updates happen at night when I am
asleep.

This does not seem to be working as I downloaded 2 items from xbox.com and when i powered on the xbox when I got home (xbox on) I had to click install and it took forever as it appeared to be downloading the items I purchased before installing them.

is this not how it is supposed to work??

That means that the transaction is being protected from being seen by anyone else online. The same as bank transactions, etc are encrypted.

 

Hey The Brit, remote downloads is not a feature the Xbox One currently supports. When you purchase content from
Xbox | Games and Entertainment on All Your Devices you will have to begin the download from your console.

Ive seen several people use that quote from Mr. Whitten several times over the last few months, and can indeed confirm it to be false. It seems as if Mr. Whitten misspoke.
