Purchasing problems

hi! i hope this is the right place.

i would like to buy Sega Vintage Collection: Toejam & Earl to play on my Xbox One, using my Microsoft account balance to pay for it. when i access it from the machine, i'm told i can't use my balance in that purchase "channel". when i access it from the
website, it wants to put the game onto my Xbox 360.

my balance is greater than the price of the game. since i have already paid the money for it, i don't want to charge a credit card.

Hi there I just got the new xbox one s.

Ive had an Xbox one previously but now when I try and purchase items on the store it just says working once I select the buy option?

Any help appreciated

In order to use your account balance for 360 content, you have to make the purchase on a 360 console.

 

that would make sense, but that's not my goal. as stated, i would like to play it on the Xbox One. attempting to purchase it from the Xbox One interface doesn't allow me to use the money that i've already paid to Microsoft, and insists that i pay them again,
which is undesirable.

 

The game is only available as a 360 game. Since it is backwards compatible it is playable on the One, but not an actual One game. So in order to purchase it with your account balance, you would have to purchase it on a 360 console. The game will then show
as ready to install on your One. Otherwise, you would need to purchase the game with either a credit card or Paypal. The 360 store is set up differently than the One store.

thanks for being so helpful. after i mulled your first response i looked again and understood what you said. i made the adjustments and have been enjoying the game for, what, 4 hours?
