Purchasing Live Gold subscription using my microsoft accoutn

Hey,

I don't know if you're not meant to be able to, but I can't purchase a gold subscription using my microsoft account. It keeps telling me to add another payment option instead. I live in the Netherlands, have a Dutch account and all, but it won't let me purchase
the 3-month subscription with the 25 euros I have in my account. Is this just an issue with my account? I've followed the steps that the online thingy said to do, but it keeps saying the same thing.

Any help? This is getting quite frustrating

Purchased 3 months of live wont let me connect

I used paypal to buy my 3 month subscription, my account says its a gold accoutn but on my xbox i cannot invite people into my party and when i view membership it says im using a gold membsership. my profile shows silver still. how do i fix this thanks

Gold can only be purchased with a credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card in a store. It's not possible to use the currency in your account to purchase a gold subscription.

 

This issue needs to be addressed and or advertised better!! I just unknowingly purchased $60 of market place credit at a retailer only to find this out. Nowhere on the card package did it say that it could not be used for the purchase of a gold membership.
For one of if not the largest computer company's in the world this should not be an issue! Especially since the recent convert away from MS points to each respective counties monetary. If I can buy ITunes gift cards and use my credit card at the same time
I should be able to do so on X Box Live as well!

 

please do not reply to threads from almost 11 months ago. this is why they sell the live cards, one card for gold membership one for purchasing content on the marketplace. those currencies are for one time purchases like games, videos, and other media.
when you buy a subscription you are getting a subscription that needs a payment on file to take the next month or 3 months or year depending on which one you bought. the ONLY way to get live without credit card or paypal is the store bought cards.
