Purchasing items on Xbox One trouble

I have been saving up for an xbox one for months, and i finally got the money to buy one.

As i set up the xbox, i went to buy some games from the store, and to my displeasure, i could not make any purchases. I looked for help all over the internet, and it came down to the parental options.

Recently upgrading from an xbox 360, I was able to make purchases on that console but now when i click anything with a price tag on it, it comes up as an error. I do not believe my account is a child account.

When i went to change the settings on my xbox one, however, it was not letting me change any of the options and said for me to "log in as a parent to make these changes". I do not have a parent account linked to my xbox one, and this is now becoming a very
frustrating situation.

I hope somebody helps me out in this thread, because I am absolutely clueless.

Problems purchasing stuff of store

Hi im having trouble purchasing items off the Xbox live store I go to buy an item and it tells me this purchase has to be made from my Xbox one and I am making this purchase on my Xbox one. It happens with all backwards compatible games and any items in
the avatar store. Can someone please help

How old are you? If you are under the age of 18 you would need a parental account attached to your gamertag. This is the account that they are asking to have sign in to make changes.

No need to use 3rd party free software to share Xbox files......... Infact that may get you in a bit of trouble

Daft is correct, ANY item purchased can be redownloded through the purchase history..... (up to one year)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Although there is no way to transfer content or purchased items from one account to another if you accidentally redeem an item on the wrong account you can contact Xbox Support to see if they're able to make a switch. This must happen right away though

and wear the items? Have you checked your purchase history at accounts.live.com to ensure that the avatar items were successfully purchased? Let us know, the more details the better!
