Purchasing Gift Cards Online

Hello,

Not sure if I am having one of those moments where its infront of me but im not seeing it, but how do you purchase a Xbox Live Gift card (say $25 worth) for someone?

I have my sons account, that im not willing to enter my creditcard details in for him, and would prefer to just purchase it as online, and he can redeem it with a code. I know i can go down to my local store to purchase the card itself, but feeling lazy
and seeing as we are in a world where you should be able to purchase anything online, would like to know where to go.

Mini-Survey: How do you purchase your digital content on Xbox Live?

I never use a debit card online. You have much MUCH less protection using a debit card in general. It's like spending cash. I always use CC's for online purchases. In fact that's pretty much all I use it for. I also use MS gift cards when convenient. Sometimes I get paid in cash and I'll just buy gift cards for game purchases.

 

Credit card mishaps

Also, when you say 'credit card' if it's one of those bought in a store prepaid credit cards it may not work for online purchases. Those are just gift cards to most online purchasing.

 

You would have to purchase one from somewhere that delivers the code digitally. I'm not sure if the Microsoft Store offers that, but you can go through somewhere like Amazon.

So there is no "Microsoft Store" online i can do this?! WOW thats convenient. Wouldnt it be practical to have it easier for people to spend money on their products.... oh what am i thinking, there is no such thing as practical these days...

I'm just not sure if they deliver the gift cards digitally or not there. I haven't quite looked into that.

 

Yeah i did go to their online store, but it didn't show any of the cards available to purchase i.e. $25 Xbox Live Gift card. Only Xbox Live Day one, and that appeared to be a "deliver to" not a digital download.

Oh well. Is there a suggestions box anywhere?

They explain where to buy it from... interestingly enough they don't have EBgames on the list.

 

ebgames doesn't deliver them digitalitally last I checked

remember the codes must match the region of your account

and if you migrate remember currency doesn't go between regions so they must be used if you run into region locked problems

hence why you should always buy codes in region

your best bet is to find a etailer in your region
