Purchasing games with MS account money.

I added into my son account 2 $50 Xbox card and I can see the balance in his Microsoft account $100 I just added. I can also see the same amount in his XBOX account profile from the console itself but when it comes to buy any content(games) the only available
way is to use my Paypal account I previously set up. It does not give him a way to use his Account Money!!!! Any Ideas how to resolve this problem!! He does not want to waste his money and I don;t need any additional charges in my Paypal account.

Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

Is he trying to purchase 360 games or One games? In order to use your Microsoft account balance for 360 games you have to use a 360 console.

Hi if you have MS money you can only purchase Microsoft goods and services, If it's in your bank then you can buy whatever you want. You can't transfer the MS money between accounts though.

Microsoft does not have that functionality fixed yet. If you have an account with multiple users the primary will only be able to purchase games. The problem is they jumped the gun because they are money hungry and only can allow you to purchase MS points
from redeemable cards. You can't add money to your account or to their account. You can only use the cards at this juncture.

A lot of times when you purchase a game like that from GameStop what they actually do is give you the amount on a gift card that you would put into your account that would go into your MS/Xbox account balance and then you would just need to purchase the
game with that gift card money.

have you checked your MS/Xbox account balance to see if this is what possibly happened?

@Owen There is no way to use the money on your MS account through the Xbox website to purchase Xbox 360 content. You have to purchase through the console.
