So this was just a query, I want to purchase a game overseas for my Xbox one on my iPad and was wondering to I need a code to put in my Xbox or will it automatically download?

This is a bonus feature, and they clearly state what's required. You have to download a file to play the game as they code each game with the wrapper required to emulate the xbox 360 in full.

You need online to do it in the first place, go to your xbox 360 and tell every game you want the save on your xbox one to sync to cloud storage. They don't all do it automatically on xbox 360.

once you have done this, when you have the game installed on your xbox one just login with that profile and it will auto download and sync the save file.

You're on a Xbox LIVE free account, which doesn't allow you to play online games. You need to upgrade to Gold. You can either do this from Xbox.com or on your console with a Credit/Debit Card, or you can purchase a subscription via redeemable code available
from game stores or online retailers.

If your console is completely off (Energy Saving or unplugged), you may need to go to My Games & Apps -> Ready to Install and manually start the download, if it does not automatically start, but you do not need a code.

I have my console setup to do automatic game updates and new game downloads but it doesn't always work I got Watch Dogs 2 it said it would try to download it to my console but when I got home I had to manually install the game. was hoping to come home and
just start playing it but I had to wait for the 30 GB download and install. It took about a half hour to 45 min But all my game updates and console updates go through fine automatically
