Purchasing games in spanish only

Hello Xbox Team,

I'm writing this post with the intention of making a formal suggestion to Microsoft in regards to the language options of the games sold in the Xbox Live Marketplace.

I recently purchased the game "Fallout New Vegas" during a "Deals With Gold" promo, only to find out after downloading it that the game is only offered in spanish. I prefer to play games on the original language that they were created as a personal preference,
and I know I'm not the only one since all of my gamer friends prefer that their games are in english.

Most gamers in my country will tell you (myself included) that they learned english since an early age through gaming. This is a common story, but it tells you the lengths we are willing to go to enjoy this beautiful medium of expression and entertainment,
and we would appreciate it very much if we had the option of legally buying games through the Xbox markteplace in the language that we desire.

I know we are a minority but I don't see what damage this would do to your business or your brand, in fact, this could even give you more selling points over the competition because you would be providing your users with more freedom to enjoy their gaming
experiences however they please. Playing videogames in any language of choice is a freedom that we as consumers deserve, I really do hope that you agree with me on this as I feel this is an underrated topic in the videogame community.

Hey there Cow! I'm having a little trouble understanding the situation. Are you saying that you usually download games and it comes in Spanish, but when you downloaded Alan Wake it wasn't in Spanish? Did you change anything about your setup or account information
before purchasing Alan Wake?

 

Issues voices on Dead Space, Gears of War 2 and text on Halo Wars spanish version

Hello from Spain.

The spanish version of Dead Space and Gears of War 2 don't have the spanish of Spain dub, only english. The original games have spanish/castillian voices.

Respect Halo Wars, don't have text in spanish.

Thank you very much for the link, I was brought here by a girl from customer service for some reason.

I don't think the language is determined by the publisher as Microsoft is the one that enforces region locking and such. Plus in the XBL marketplace publishers have to abide by Microsoft's rules. I'm just baffled that we can't have the option of playing
a game we paid for in English, it seems as common sense to me.

 

Actually region locking is done by the publishers as well, same with the language. Some publishers add the ability to change the language in the game, but other than that, they are the ones who determine what version of the games to give Microsoft for download.

Whatever company is listed S the publisher is the publisher and they can enforce region locks
