1. Purchasing Games Before Release Day Makes Them Exempt?

I would like a definitive answer on whether or not MyVIP qualifies for the credit of digitally purchasing a game that is not out yet but that I am immediately charged for since the game is only a few days away from release. I see the info stating pre-orders
do not qualify for MyVIP which makes some sense I suppose, if the game is so far out that I am not immediately charged for the pre-order. Does this also qualify for games that are a few days away from release when they are purchased, therefore charging me
immediately, and if so why? If this is the case, it would seem there is a large penalty to rewards members like myself for purchasing a game before it is released and ready to play instead of waiting to buy on release day so that I may then benefit from the
credit received from doing so. Can you please clarify this policy for me? Thank you.

:)

What does purchasing the game on release day have to do with deciding whether or not to purchase DLC?

Disappointed with 2011 / No More Release Date Buys
I'm no longer purchasing games on release dates and
will research them before purchasing.
You buy games without doing research and get disappointment in return...Shocking!!! Don't blindly go for overhyped annual releases, there's many other great games out there.

5. The support staff works Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm PST and typically take 1-2 business days to reply to threads. They will never respond in 1 hour.

To answer your question (which the staff will also do in 1-2 business days) Pre-orders do not qualify for MyVip unless there is a specific promotion stating as such (example: September 2016 pre-orders qualified for that month). It
does not matter if they release in 1 day or 6 months.

There is almost always a pre-order promotion running which offers credits for pre-ordering titles within the promotional period which typically involves pre-ordering 3 eligible titles to receive 15,000 total points.

Hello lived thru Nam,

As stated in our FAQ:

What content on the Xbox Store is eligible for MyVIP?

Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles
(excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes, movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar items.
In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.

So pre-orders will not qualify for MyVIP, regardless of how close the purchase is to the release date. There is currently an offer that awards certain pre-orders, Games on Demand, which requires the purchase of three eligible pre-order titles to complete.
Since we only award via MyVIP or offers, this offer covers pre-order purchases, since those are not covered by MyVIP.

family gold pack

also beware that when you are moved from the family pack, you have to wait five days before being able to access gold inside of the family pack again. you CAN get around this, but the primary account holder has to call support and have them make an exemption
for the secondary if they want to add you back to the pack before the five days. The exemption allows you to access the gold without waiting the five days.

Funilly enough Saber when you said the 28 days thing. I've just read the receipt, it's exempt from the 28 days of purchase, unless faulty.
