    Am I able to purchase a game on my friends Xbox One to try out and play. Then redeem in or download it to my own home system? Just want to make sure i'm not limited to playing the game only on his console!

    It says the the purchasing, downloading, and redeeming are down for the moment. I know this because I have a Ethernet hooked up to my xbox one. It should be better by tomorrow. But I got a code from my friend so it might be the friend code.

    You can certainly do that. Just remember that the Xbox One does not work the same as the 360. Because your console is set as your Home console your friend will not be able to play the game while your gamertag is not signed in.

    Anything you own will show as owned in the Xbox store or appear in your purchase history. If you can't find the game then it means it's not owned by your account and was most likely redeemed on another one.
