    Purchasing Backwards Compatible Games


    I'm thinking of purchasing an Xbox One, and I was wondering if I need to own physical copies of 360 games in order to play them on the Xbox One? Are all or any of the 360 games in the BC program available for purchase from Xbox marketplace
    via Xbox One? I've never owned an Xbox and I was very excited about the BC Possibility, I just can't find an answer to the question: Do I have to buy old physical copies of 360 games? Also, do people play Team Fortress 2 on Xbox One online? Can I find matches?

    It could depend on what you're purchasing. If you're purchasing backwards compatible games on the One, the Microsoft account balance is not a valid payment option.

    Buy a xbox 260 game

    Depending on the game it may not be compatible on Xbox One if the game is not backwards compatible. The game may only playable on an Xbox 360.

    There is a list of games that are backwards compatible and I believe the game will say if it is or not before purchasing it.

    You can buy the games physically or digitally. It doesn't matter. If you do buy them from the One, you have to use a credit card or Paypal to make the purchase. I don't play Team Fortress, but as long as online is still available, there are usually still
    people playing it.

    Are you trying to buy One games or backwards compatible games? The Microsoft account balance cannot be used to purchase backwards compatible content on the One.

    The One store/website have never been updated to work with the currency system for backwards compatible content. The only way to purchase backwards compatible games with the funds on your account is through a 360 console.

    Currently, no. Even with the current phase of backwards compatibility, those games are not backwards compatible yet. So you would need to purchase the Xbox One version if you want to play them. As far as in the future, it depends on whether or not the games
    are made backwards compatible.
