Purchasing an xbox one. Is now the right time?

Reports of XOne fails are greatly exagerrated. None of my friends or I have had any issues, Im not saying people havent had issues, just that claims of mass hardware fails are nonsene. Todi pretty much sums it up with his post above.

 

I have no regret to this day that I made the right current gen choice with the X1. Proud Day One Owner. May even buy a second one if they release a Star Wars themed one for Battlefront. It will complement my Star Wars 360 quite nicely.

First I've heard of this rampant issue?? Sure Xbox One can and do go wrong but you could buy a brand new Bentley today and something could go wrong, just a fact of life. I believe though the issues that have been seen with the Xbox One so far are nowhere
near as bad as the RROD on the Xbox 360.

So if this is what's stopping you then I'd say don't worry and go for it, well providing that the games on offer now appeal to you, I wouldn't buy any console unless it had a decent line up of games that appealed to "me"

Its a great time to invest. Destiny, Assassins Creed Unity, low prices and great deals. Definitely worth your money at the moment.

 

Unless you regard Sunset Overdrive as an absolutely AAA+ Essential game then I say wait, wait and wait some more.

When buying a console there should always be one title with it that fully justifies the purchase.

 

@joey : You are wrong there is no rampant fan noise issue. You provide links from support where people go for issues. This is not a comparrison thread but, Nintendo,Sony and MS all have a small failure rate. I have had my XB1 since last November 29th 2013
and it is very quiet.

Now is a great time to get an XB1 MCC man.

 

Hardware problems are definitely lower with Xbox One compared to the Xbox 360. There really is no right time. Sometimes you get a lemon and sometimes you don't. You just have to hope your one of the luck ones. It's a very slim chance though that you'll get
a bad console.

 

fan issue ? not heard of anything regarding fans.

My day one is still fine, only thing I heard about was controllers made a bit of noise due to build quality but mine is solid and it's been dropped loads on to hardwood floor.

 

Buy the console, get a free game as part of a bundle, and then pay $30 for EA Access and get 5+ games (Madden 25, FIFA 14, Peggle 2, Battlefield 4, Need for Speed Rivals, and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare) + unique savings on new EA games for an entire
year (digital only)!

 

Bundles are great deals. Sunset Overdrive is a great bundle to get for sure. And the white Xbox One gives me a great nostalgic feeling of my original Xbox 360 purchase. The newly announced Assassin's Creed bundle is a tremendous deal as well. End of
October early November is a great time to buy.

And there are no "rampant" issues. Fan noise? That is a small percentile (on both sides of the fence), and it is not an issue.

 

Thank you all, You have made me fell at ease with these comments. I guess when you read one flaw in a system your mind tends to play tricks on you. I will most likely close this thread since the "issue" if any at all was just affecting a few people and was
not so wide spread as i thought.

It could only be a better time if it was the initial launch again. You've got Halo coming, Call of Duty AW, Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, GTA V... It's going to be the most relentless November for gaming in recent memory.

 

No stay away , they are going crazy with bans for no reason and the game selection sucks , a few good first party games and thats it but there getting destroyed in everything else all because the dumb contracts they have in place . Xbox gamer since day 1
of the original and no more . the hardware is weaker that is fact look at the specs . just look around and decide but it is ovious what the majorty of the world has chosen , i just got booted off of the ambasdor program and it is such a joke that they do what
ever and dont need to even tell you why they just give you a copy and paste bs statment out of a xbox hand book. also to the guy above all those games are on the ps4 and run better on it accept AC unity because they were ------------- to make all the games
just as --------- as the one on x1. Or better yet they are all better on PC as i own every console out there .

 

There has never not been a good time to buy one. And to the poster above please post a link of the official SPECS from MS please. A few good exclusives a better than a couple of terrible ones.
