Purchasing an xbox one. Is now the right time?

I was looking into purchasing an xbox one. Specifically the Sunset overdrive bundle that is coming out on the 28th. With the "fan/noise issue" running rampant and causing issues it has got me thinking if now is the best time to purchase one? I know that
for some the issue has been fixed with the october update. My question is, Would the fan issue affect this bundle as well? or Would this model be different in terms of components and not be affected? I mean i waited a least 3 years for the 360 because of the
over heating issue. But this is a different case. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Fan issue is a hardware problem...not going to be "fixed" by a software update. None of these "problems" are even remotely at the same scale of RROD.

dont worry you should be fine, id suggest not wasting your time waiting and play now while the playings good

 

Is now the time to buy the ONE? Absolutely. The games are rocking and there are so many more due out this month, November and a few in December and 2 potentially killer games in February. Many more in 2015. Aside from that, they have bigger internal hard
drives now and you can use your own external drive.

I haven't heard of many fan issues and definitely not from any friends in real life who have one. When I'm helping people in chat, that question rarely comes up. I'd say you're good to go. If you do buy it and it has a faulty fan take it back straight away.

 

I just bought my Sunday. I was a ps4 owner since release day. But all the games i wanted (of course, were delayed)

So i said screw it sold it and bought an x1. Im ready for Halo, far cry 4 and ac.

Oh and my x1 runs fine so far.

J0EY now is def a good time, i have had no problems with my day one edition xbox one all the amazing games coming out.

 

To be honest, this is probably one of the best times to buy, there is so many games out now and more coming that you'll be entertained for a long time to come.

Not to mention some of the apps etc.

 

There's a fan/noise issue? Never heard of anyone complaining about that, nor have I read anything about it. I've had my Xbox One for a while now and haven't had a single issue with it.

Anyways... I think now is a great time to buy an Xbox One with many great games already out for the system and quite a few about to come out. It seems like the perfect time to me.

Yet most people confirm, (even in the video) That after the october update the noise has quieted.

I 'm just a bit sceptical, Why there was an issue in the first place? Especially on newly purchased consoles? It may be my paranoia talking, But i still have my doubts. Although it may have only affected a small amout of people. I 'm just afraid that the
Sunset overdrive bundle may be affected.

 

Well I've personally never heard of that issue and none of my friends that own an Xbox One have had any issues with their consoles either. It doesn't seem widespread and the newer the console the better the chance they could of fixed whatever issue was causing
it. All electronics have issues, it's just the nature of the beast. You can keep waiting all you want and you still may end up getting a broken system, you might as well splurge on it and have some fun. Don't sit there and worry about it. I just bought a new
car and had read issues about it from customers and reviewers but I wanted the car and bought it anyway and love it to death. Life is short, don't worry and enjoy it.

 

If you search hard enough, you can find anectodal reports of nearly anything (if you believe everything on the internet)...if it truly was/is a seriously widespread issue it would be all over the gaming blogs/sites...they love to bash Microsoft and get ad
clicks at the same time...You have bought major electronics before, right? They come with things called warranties. You can also return to the seller (if they are repudible) and get a new one if you got a failed unit.

 

We own 2 x1's. The first is with kinect and was purchased the second week it came out. Never had the sound issue. The second is the Madden bundle without kinect. That had the sound problem, but the October update fixed it. Never had to return anything,
both work fine.

 

I'm with most of these guy's and have never heard of a fan noise issue before reading this. My day one X1 has been fine. I'm buying the Sunset Overdrive X1 for My son for X1.
