Purchasing 4k movied

hey guys, im trying to purchase a 4k movie on the xbox store, my tv is 4k/HDR compatible, but for some reason the store won‘t give me the option to purchase in 4k UHD, only in SD/HD...

Does anybody know what the problem might be?

Does the game still support HDR in "performance mode" on XBOX ONE X ?

I am considering into purchasing a 4K TV just for HDR support. I prefer to play games such as GEARS 4 and TOMB RAIDER in 60 fps performance mode weven without 4K, however I do want to see what HDR is all about.

So does the game still have HDR support if I game in "performance mode" on a 4K TV ? What kind of specs on the 4K TV I should watch out for when purchasing 4K for this option ?

4K on xbox one?

Netflix has 4K content as far as I am aware, so that is a good start if you are investing in the technology.

Games will be a long long long way off that resolution, and probably won't come until the day all games are streamed rather than played on a localised system.

As for the movies, I would imagine the drive is not capable of 4K although there may be an option to download 4k movies in the future.

 

If you have the original Xbox One, UHD is not available.

If you have the One S or X, it may be an issue with the Xbox Store - You could always try to purchase it through the Microsoft Webiste at Movies & TV - Microsoft Store.

I would recommend reaching out to customer support with questions before purchasing in this case, you don't want to buy the wrong thing and then be stuck with it

 

Also, make sure you've set your resolution to 4k before going into the store and purchasing a movie.

 

Not all movies may be released in 4K

 

Yes im aware of this, but the movie the movies that i was planning on purchasing had an info box which said „this movie is available in 4k UHD HDR etc...“ it just doesn‘t give me the 4k UHD option in the quality settings

 

Which Xbox One do you own? the Original, the S or the X?

 

Now all of the movies on the digital store are purchasable in 4K. I have only seen a few of them myself
