Purchased an Xbox One account for Video Games. Account Hijacked.

Good Evening,

I purchased an Xbox One Account off of an individual earlier today. In exchange for a handful of video games + cash he provided me the account information for his xbox live account. I met him in person and on his phone he allowed me to change his account
information and credentials such as the email address and password. At this point we completed our transaction and I provided him the agreed games and cash.

I have a full email chat log with the individual who has scammed me. I have all records of text and email relating to this issue.

Best case scenario I would like this account returned to me so I can play the games that I have purchased. At the very worst I would like to see this individual banned as he will continue to perform these illegal actions against our Xbox gaming community.


Can you please inform me of whether anything is recoverable in this matter? If nothing is recoverable is there any action that can be taken against this user. Thank you.

Digital games on console question

Ok ta the other reason I used a 3rd account was that account was a new account and he purchased games with it.
Remembered his password and went back to his old account.
I'm going to continue using the 3rd account as we can jointly fill it up with credit instead of you buy one game I buy one game.

 

Has anyone else got $6.00 free from microsoft on 360?

I was going to purchase a few games from xbox live on my 360 and I went to add a credit card and saw that for some reason that microsoft put $6.00 into my microsoft account and thought that was just from the rewards program. But I happen to check another account on my xbox 360 that i didn't even use the rewards program with and have just purchase one game with that account and it also has $6.00 in that account also is Microsoft given out $6.00 to us or what is the deal?

 

I have just reviewed the Xbox Live Code of Conduct:

Upon reading the code of conduct it appears that this account will most likely not be able to be recovered in my possession. I unfortunately was not fully aware of this information at the time and made, in hindsight, an incorrect decision.

"H. Fraud & Commerce

Accounts and Gamertags are non-transferable. Do not purchase accounts or Gamertags from third parties."

Although I was not aware of this information prior to this day it can be said without a doubt that I will never purchase another account from a third party again.

On the contrary, the individual who committed this act should be penalized to prevent this from occurring in the future. I would not be surprised if I was not the first individual to report this account. Please penalize this account. Thank you.

 

Calling out gamertags & posting personal info like your email address is not allowed on the forums.

Buying/selling accounts is strictly against the terms & conditions so you have no chance of getting that account.

I suspect yourself & the seller will get a permanent ban sometime soon

 

So even though i unknowingly committed a victimless crime and I was the victim of fraud I will receive a permanent ban when I am in good standing in the xbox community? I have never and will never do anything fraudulent to the xbox community.

I was not aware we are not allowed to post account information but wanted to provide mods as much information as possible.

If I unknowingly committed this act and was scammed and then receive a permanent ban is that considered fair or just? I literally had no idea of this and was convinced by this individual to purchase his account. I do not belueve thay my xbox account deserves
a permanent ban due to my action which had no detriment to the community other than to myself. I believe I have already been punished for my unknowledgeable action by losing money and xbox games for good...

Saying you unknowingly broke the rules is not an excuse.

I understand that you made a mistake but if you had read the rules that you agreed to then this wouldn't of happened.

A moderator can't help you,they are just regular xbox live users who police the forums.
