Purchased a new xbox 360 slim console - packaging contained wrong power cable

I recently purchased a new xbox 360 slim console as a present for somebody and when I went to set it up, I found the incorrect power cable included in the packaging. I believe the power cable is from a previous model of xbox 360.

I have attempted to contact and request a new power cable from the support section of the site but each time I attempt to put a request through I receive an error message/no order has been made message.

If a solution can be found, I'd really appreciate it

Compatibility Problems with the New 360 Slim

Hi guys, I've recently purchased a new 360 slim, everything is fine with my console except one thing. The input for the Turtle beach xl1 is not present in the 360 slim, do I need to buy a different cable or is the new Xbox not compatible with my headset?

 

How to connect the cables of your Xbox 360 Console

You must connect the cables properly to run your Xbox 360 Console.

Here is how:

Original Xbox 360 console

• First, you need to plug one end of the cable into the USB port on the back of the console and the other end into an electrical outlet.
• If you have a wireless networking adapter, plug it into the USB port on the front of the console by using the supplied USB extension cable.
• Connect all other USB accessories to USB ports on the front of the console.

Note: You'll have to purchase a power/USB cable if your want to connect the Kinect sensor which you have bought with an Xbox 360 S Console, to an Original Xbox 360 console.

Xbox 360 S console

• In Xbox 360 S console, the Kinect sensor cable does not need to be attached with a power plug. So disconnect the power plug portion of the cable if it is attached with a power plug.
• You need to plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.

 

Sorry to hear it. Where did you purchase the console from? Would it not be better to return it to the seller to get a proper console with cable instead of purchasing a new one?

I purchased it from the online store and because I bought it intended as a gift so won't be seeing the person for a while. If I can get a replacement power cable ASAP that'd be ideal. And I would like to still give the xbox when I see the receiver over the
holidays.
