    Purchase made on wrong account


    I recently got lucky and was able to purchase a Series X, along with a game (Far Cry 6), and a controller.

    When I finished the transaction the receipt went to my other Microsoft account.

    If the game has not been "Installed" is there any way to transfer it to my account that already has Xbox Live?

    I've tried to contact support but my PC won't handle all of the browser tabs that it opens just to get to that point. And then of course there is the subject of timing. I'm usually trying to contact them just outside of their business hours.

    Sorry about that, what you could do to play this game on your main account is set this account with far cry 6 as a home console, and then it would allow you to access the game from your original account, to do that follow the instructions below, please.

    In case the account with which you have the far cry 6 license would be defined as a home console, this would make it possible for you to play the game on your original account.

    That may be the route I have to take, except that I will have to return the entire bundle including the console.

    Such is life I suppose.

    I've filed the refund, I'll see what they say. If there's nothing they can do but to return the bundle then I will do it this way.

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. Unfortunately, it's not possible to transfer anything from one account to another on Xbox Live, this includes game licenses, subscriptions, and achievements made from a Gamertag. In your case, I believe you could claim a refund for FAR CRY 6 as long as you meet the requirements.

    Requesting a refund is a joke.

    I received yet another link to an information page about returns. I'm not 12, I know what is involved with returns. I just wanted to know if there was something they can do on their end.

    There is no wonder there are so many workarounds for consoles/accounts.
