    Purchase issue with Backward Compatible 360 games


    Ever since my 360 died months ago I have been using my xbox one to play my 360 games and ever since the feature was added to be able to purchase 360 games on xbox one it never works for me at all I have done everything in my power to get it to work but it's
    just not happening it gives me a error that says this

    Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com. Please complete this transaction from your Xbox.
    How am I supposed to be able to make said purchase when I have a broken 360? Please fix this issue whenever you can.

    Hello carlislemom2003,

    360 demos of titles are not backwards compatible with the Xbox One. If you wish to play Sonic, you will need to purchase the full game title as that is what is backwards compatible.

    That's not a bug

    You have two options

    First follow copa law

    You cannot make the purchase because you fall under copa only by having parental permission can youake.the purchase however xbox one parental permissions don't apply to xbox 360 marketplace that's why you are getting the error

    And wait till you are 18

    2nd you can solve the issue another way have a parental make the purchase on their account with a gold membership

    I did what you said to do and it still won't let me I had the parent account allow me to make any purchase on xbox 360 so why will it not work?

    You still have to make the purchase on the 360 in order for the parental settings to work.

    I did not say you has to have your parent account to change your settings

    As mentioned before and repeated by swmutches

    The parental account must have gold and make the purchase for you or you make the purchase via a 360

    The game is definitely backwards compatible. There have been a lot of people having issues with purchasing backwards compatible games from the site, but I haven't seen a solution yet. Unfortunately the only other way around it is purchasing it from a 360.

    Are you able to test any other backwards compatible games?

    Generally issues with backwards compatible games on the 360 is down to the hard drive. A lot of third party purchases of hard drives tend to result in the hard drive being a knock off which will not work with backwards compatibility.

    Are you using an official MS brand hard drive or was it purchased separately from a 3rd party or used? Are you able to test any other backwards compatible games?

    Typically issues with backwards compatible games on the 360 are due to the hard drive. There are a lot of knock off drives out there and they will not run backwards compatible titles.

    Hello Darkling,

    Sorry for the issue with purchasing backward compatible games. The only way you could use the gift card for them purchases is on a Xbox 360. Purchasing backward compatible games on Xbox one has never been able to use currency, always needed paypal or credit
    card unfortunately.
