Hi,

I'm having problems trying to purchase an 18 rated game

I'm over 18 (by a loong way) and my birthdate is correct on microsoft profile

I've also purchased 18 games in the past

I do have a couple of children in my microsoft family, though I have allowed them full access to everything so this shouldn't be an issue (and as I've mentioned, I've previously downloaded 18 rated games)

The error I'm getting is

Can anyone help me please?

Unable to redeem Loot Boxes for Overwatch GoY edition

I’m unable to redeem the 10x bonus Lootboxes that came with GoY edition. Entering the code throws a age limit message:

I am the primary account holder and family settings show that I am an adult.

Hi there,

be sure to double check if everything is set up correct via account.xbox.com/settings for every account in the family and then retry the purchase via both Xbox One (accounts may have to sign out and in again) and Xbox.com

If that didn't fix anything then I suggest you to contact official Xbox Support (by Phone or Microsoft Support Chat) via support.xbox.com/contact-us

They should be able to do a more indepth check on what could be causing this issue.

The birthdate that is set when creating an Xbox account is permanent. It cannot be changed. Changing the birthdate in your Microsoft account details does not change the date as far as Xbox is concerned.

You can only change a child account to an adult account once the birthdate reaches 18.

So I’m trying to buy a 17+ game but it says I’m not old enough and to “give this code to an adult”. I dont have any family settings connected to my Xbox1, and I dont know how to “give the code to an adult” so i can play the game. Please help? (I am under
18 i just dont know who to give the “code” to or where the code even is.)

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have issue with account. If a purchase and gamer picture are noticing you have a child account then the Birthdate on Xbox.com is under the age of 18. This one is unable to be changed.
Sorry you are having this issue, you can submit an Age verification Form,you
can also submit proof of age.

After submitting this form, you will receive email confirmation and follow up emails. Also will get instructions on how you monitor the status of your request. Please do not fill out multiple requests. You can expect
an email response usually within 3 days.
