    when my Xbox One is on, the power supply fan has become very loud. This is a new thing, as it is noticeably louder than even a couple of days ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Xbox one fan noise

    Hi all, I was wondering whether this fan noise is normal. Doesn't sound to bad
    but it's louder than my ps4 whilst idle. Very high pitched and irritating, does anybody else have this? Also the psu(power supply) fan is constantly loud, even in a well ventilated place. Thanks for reading!

    PSU fans, louder than xbox

    hi,



    I have a fairly new Slim model and I just noticed the PSU fans are louder than I can recall. I just connected a Kinect sensor last night, didn't notice until then, but it may not be related. It;s loud with or without the Kinect.

    The PSU is cool, and cool air is coming out. Any ideas on this?

    One of the main things is if you have it plugged into a surge strip that is full with other equipment. Have a look and let us know if it helps.

    Wanting to shine some light and finish a debate

    One of the pros of having an external PSU is not having that heat in the console, therefore the xbox runs very quiet. I have never heard mine. The single fan in the playstation is cooling the Power supply AND the CPU/GPU. Thats why it gets so loud.

    It shouldn't be that loud. Is it getting enough airflow? You need to have it in a really well ventilated area because the fan kicks into overdrive when the console heats up.

    I don't have the One S but I would image the fan would be louder than the original launch consoles because the psu is inside the console. Still, I don't think it should be as loud as what you are describing.

    Same here. Can´t use the "instant on" mode because of the PSU Fan.

    First night the Xbox was here, I tested if the fan quiets down. But nothing happened. In the morning the fan was as loud as in the evening.

    That sound is REALLY annoying and the only (but for me big) negative point I found so far.
