ps gold headset with chat (on xbox one)??

just broke my 2nd pair of MS headset. i have a pair of PS gold headset. i see all over the internet that these can be used for xbox one with chat. i can seem to get the headset to work as headphones, but no chat. i am using a newer controller with jack built
in and a :monster" audio cable (see below sorry dont know why its so big). am i missing something? i have updated controller with headset connected. i have gone thru all the settings still no avail. anyone successful in doing this? looking to get chat working

headset adapter question

I use my PS Gold headset with the XB1 headset adapter and it works perfect. I also used my PS chat ear buds perfectly. I would guess that the PS Silver would work also.

Xbox one wireless headset.

Xbox one isn't compatible with wireless headsets as a rule. As long as you have decent headset anything would be good enough. I use a PS gold headset plugged into the 3.5 jack & it works a treat.

I hope Xbox introduces a premium wireless headset similar or better than the PS Gold wireless headset with the Series X. I personally don't mind using a wired headset because it's one less thing I have to charge. However, I will say the Microsoft Xbox
One stereo headset is straight up garbage. I'm very gentle with all my electronics, and I had three in a row break in different ways from minimal use.

A little of a work around for party chats, if you are trying to talk to friends in a party you can connect your USB headset and use the party feature in the Xbox App on the PC, I know this is only a partial solution So they make two versions of this headset,
one for consoles and one for PC, you may be able to exchange this
