"Proud to be an American."

Well, today is the Independence Day for the United States of America, and I'm here to say that I'm proud to be an American (regardless of what all of you foreigners might think of us).

Since it's currently raining outside as of this thread's creation (thank goodness I celebrated with fireworks last night), I'm celebrating by staying inside and celebrating in whatever way I can - eating good American food (bacon!), playing video games,
and creating cool stuff - like this American flag that I made in Minecraft!

If you're an American like me, how are you celebrating this wonderful holiday? If you're not an American, how do you celebrate your own country's Independence Day and what do you think of us Americans (but please be careful when answering the latter - we
don't need to be violating forum rules, okay!)? Also, since this is the Xbox One General Discussion forum, what games have you played or that you do play on your Xbox One console that you think promotes freedom, equality, or other American virtues and why?

Barbeque hamburgers and hotdogs with the wife and kids lighting fire works is what I'm doing. Nice weather hear in wyo. Great day so far. Taking a break right now.

Nice to hear vikingland1, and thanks! I had plans to visit friends later this evening for a cookout over a firepit here in Florida, but that may not happen if this rain keeps up. It's a real shame too - I have a whole pack of beef franks and 10+ corn on
the cobs all ready to go (and that's assuming the wood that's used for the firepit will be dry enough to burn)! Still, even I'm not going to let a little bit of rain ruin time with my friends.

In any case, I don't want the mods to think we're off-topic due to the nature of this forum, so please also think of some Xbox One games that you've played that you think portrays America or its virtues in some way and explain why.

I cannot celebrate the 4th this year.

 

I'm a Brit. The ruck between our forebears led to the creation of probably the most important document in the history of Western civilisation so... gotta respect this holiday you guys have. S'kinda cool.

I think of Americans like distant cousins. Same with Aussies, Canadians, Kiwis et al... y'know, the Anglosphere. =)

Closest thing we have to July 4th in terms of lightning stuff to make it explode is Guy Fawkes Night. Far more chaotic though. If there's room for a fire in a populated area... there'll be a fire there on Bonfire Night. Some are supervised, most aren't.
EMS sirens are interspersed with fireworks exploding.

One bonfire night me and three mates all lit fireworks at the same time, but not, because only two lit and the guy at number three was still lighting his next to the two now hissing ones, we grabbed him and we all backed up quickly and ended up in the huge
garden pond. November nights in England aren't warm btw...

... remember, remember the 5th of November. BrrrrrrrrRRRrrrr. S'one I won't forget. Never did see what those fireworks looked like in the sky. {XD

^^ Are you guys the Inbetweeners? Lol. To celebrate, I played some AC4 and going to a friend's bbq later. Then I'll probably get some Evolve going with the missus (amazing game!) No fireworks cus they just don't excite me anymore.
