  2. I hate looking at my shelf full of DVDs and video games that I no longer watch and that I either don't really want to sell and/or can't sell for a decent price anymore - it just sits there collecting dust (otherwise most are still in fine condition) and
taking up space. At least of few of them have simply stopped working because of it - I had to throw out "Avatar" because it "simply stopped working." Apparently, discs can simply stop working from just sitting around (even if they are untouched). This is why
I like digital - I don't have to worry about that happening again... Ever.

I am still surprised I was the only one to mention console Gold sharing as one of the biggest reasons to go digital.... put aside all the BS, it is not legal, against TOS blah blah blah... it has been 9 months... anyways...

who wouldnt dive at the chance to get Destiny for $30.00?

  4. Pros and cons of having a game on disc vs. having a digital copy

Yes, tohellnbak, And i am not starting an argument, this is just my view

You carry on game sharing, and openly talking about, and as much as you would like to call it BS, it is not. How many people if they received a ban for sharing a digital game, would purchase another Xbox One. Not many. How many of their current customer
do you think MS want to pee Off. None, at the moment with the current sales volumes. So off course they will let people get away with it, as long as the publishers don't kick up a stink.

And i mean this truthfully, good on you for getting a game and sharing it with a friend, and anyone that does, because after all that tripe that people put about supporting the publishers, your advocating a buy 1 share with another person scheme, that see's
them lose out on another sale. Multiplied by say just 1000 people doing this on a 5 million sales basis (I bet it's more), and that's 1000 less sales.

And no GG, You don't have to worry about 1 or 2 discs from your original collection going down, because you would be able to replace them, quite cheaply, But hey, When the servers are gone from the Xbox 360, and eventually from the Xbox One, in However many
years. Or specific games are removed for XBL, Which they are, just search for the list of games removed, and can no longer be downloaded (having already deleted it, what then)

Again, i prefer a media i know i can take care off, and have working, (And none of my xbox/xbox 360/PS3/CD32 or games have just packed up. Laser issues on the xbox 360, most certainly, Tweaking the POT, or just replacing the drive sorts that out.

    Hairy,

Funny you talk about 2 for 1 for home sharing yet I see the only real reason to go disc is the ability to trade it in for another used game... are those trade in going back to MS? How many of those games do you think have 3rd 4th 5th generation owners....The
irony is so hot it burns... seriously...

Billion dollar business... I am sure the devs, the ceo the companies all know about it... this is not some secret only known to people on this website...

  6. All 33 of my games are digital, 5 of them being games with gold, I'm perfectly happy with digital.

There's no discs to worry about no cases to shelve ( i was late to the 360 party and still ended up with 100s of games) I can play from any of my x1's wherever and whenever I like without carrying them.

I never sold consoles/games anyway so it doesn't bother me and near the end of the x1's life I will probablly just download my collection on to another drive/drives as backup and pack it away.

If i gave that game to a friend, i could no longer play it. I no longer own it.

There is a difference between determining to outright do the publisher out of a sale, and not knowing whether or not you will keep said game. Not all games i have do i sell on. A lot i keep.

Pros and cons of having a game on disc vs. having a digital copy

All my Digital games are now backed up on a external HDD. In 20 years if microsoft remove the X1 servers for some reason then I guess I still have my games stored in multiple places locally by then.

always be disks for me, after buying thief the only digital games i'll buy are games like minecraft, pinball etc etc I enjoy going to the game store getting some fresh air and getting my games its like a little ritual.

I like to have my collection on display another personal preference, none of my games have stopped working, i have ps1 disks that look like they been 10 rounds with wild disc hating cougars but still load fine and play fine, i even have a few ringed games
that still work on my 360 by sheer luck i imagine but work none the less tho i pretty much handle all my games with care and taught my daughter how to handle em with care, hold it like this, use it like this, if you don't and you break my game i break your
    toys, simple lol

and all in all while ms maintains being 15 quid + more expensive than most disc retailers i am never going to be swayed to full digital lol

  10. Hello everyone Pros and cons of having a game on disc vs. having a digital copy :)

The issues regarding Disc Copies being lost / damaged can be avoided for the most part by the owner being careful on how they handle them.

I can't despute the fact that you can re-download the game if something happends to them when you go Digital; but as a collector, I need them on my shelf Pros and cons of having a game on disc vs. having a digital copy :)

Which means your friend has your log-in information or you set his console as your "Home" console. Not saying it's wrong, though it does seem a little "shady". ;-)

Gold sharing works on your "Home" X Box One with discs. Unless your setting up a "Home" console outside of the home...I see no benefit of digital over physical.

I like the "choice" of how to buy, though will admit going with physical more often than not. Personal belief is "most people" want all digital because they think it will lower prices; I believe if that were to happen, prices would go up from them having
    a monopoly.

    Peace, J.R.

@Ztrooper -- It was a few hundred dollars, actually. I was mildly amused by some of the prices they offered... some games it was a measly $.50 and then random games they'd give me like $15 for them.

@Lei -- I didn't bother. I was in the process of moving and just wanted to get them out ASAP. There was a mother at Gamestop while I was bringing in box after box of the games and she asked, "Got enough games?" I laughed and told her, "In 15 minutes I
    won't". :)

    Hello "Eggnogga" :)

Did you ask any of your friends if they were interested in your 200 Xbox 360 games? You probably would have gotten a better deal by doing this and the friend that bought those games from you would be happy because the games that they just purchased are
    all in perfect condition :)

Long story short, it is a " win win " situation for you and the friend that bought them :)

Have a nice day or afternoon or night :)
