Props???

Recently I had made purchases for my Avatar on the Xbox 1 S. They were working fine until the new Avatar app installment came in. Now the props aren't showing up in her profile, yet she has the outfit on. Only her gamer pic is visible. In the Avatar app
editor her prop is there and checked. I tried changing her prop and after pressing A it gave a check mark. Still no props are shown in profile. (Even free ones.) When I push X to save nothing happens unless I push X several times. When I do this it says something
went wrong try again later. What happened? Paid or free props will not appear on profile page, yet in the in the app it appears she has everything working. In her profile only shows Gamer pic and no props. My console has no or never had an issue. The only
thing new that happened was the new Avatar app. Which, I am ignoring considering I just spent real money on a fictitious character days before Microsoft adds a new app. I had waited 2 days now and no change. So, I did wait patiently and looked in the settings
and every were on the console. Everything is in order. I don't drink, use drugs or have a mental illness. As a competent and coherent person this baffles me. Could anyone explain to why this has happened or have a solution to this annoying dilemma? Thank you.

Since you say everything looks normal on the Xbox app as far as how your Avatar should look, then the Xbox may need to be troubleshooted for a technical issue or glitch affecting the software.

I would suggest to start with a complete
power cycle to fully reboot your Xbox.

Try that out and let us know the results!

 

I had tried the 10 sec. hold and unplug option 2 days ago, yesterday and just now. Still no Prop in profile. There is no prop or Avatar on site only shows Gamer pic.

Sorry you are having issues. I would recommend trying to remove
and re-add your account. This tends to help in regards to any add on that has recently been purchased but isn't showing up in the console yet.



Side Note: It is very important to make sure you know the primary email/password to the account before removing it from the console.

Ok well lets try some things out. Let's make sure the "Show my Avatar" option is checked off so that your avatar is displayed in your profile and other locations. After you select "Customize Profile" you will see the box on the right and check it off. If
it is checked, then uncheck it, power cycle your Xbox, and then go back into your profile and check off that box again.

Also make sure both the new Xbox Avatar App and the Original Xbox Avatar App is closed. Once they are both closed, open the new Xbox Avatar app only and when it gives you the option, select the option that says "Use Original Avatar", then restart your Xbox.

Seems like this has been ongoing for some items since they are indeed broken. I wish there something Microsoft could do.

 

Almost there! Thanks everyone for your suggestions. From my understanding Microsoft has been having some issues and are dealing with bugs. Knowing this and troubleshooting I had wiped the console clean. Now, here's the kicker. lol. The Avatar is now visible
with her wings out frozen in one place. The new Avatar app installment I think has a glitch. With what was recommended was a problem doing having the wait circle spinning for ever. Erasing the system and starting over having the ethernet cable in the console
has the best results. I will attempt this one more time.

If you're mentioning trying a
factory reset, make sure you select the option to "Reset and Keep my games and apps".

If the issue persists I would suggest reporting the problem through the
Xbox Insider Hub app so that they can take a closer look at any bugs affecting the new Avatar system so a patch can be worked on soon.

 

Thanks everyone for your help with suggestions and tips. Factory reset is always the last resort. I have a 2 TB external hard drive for cases like this. Everything is back to normal. Thanks everyone and happy gaming!
