Project Xcloud in the UK and my views after a few weeks.

So my specs etc quick, galaxy s10+ on vodafone. Xbox one X, Home network is virgin media 350mb connection. After market router nighthawk r7800. Connected to 5ghz. Wifi connection tends to be around 100mb-150mb around house 300mb in same room as router. Speeds out and about very.

To start I'm enjoying experience. I have used both xcloud and console streaming. I'm going to write about my experiences separately below.

Console streaming. This works really well very little lag if any on wifi. I visited family 60 miles away and showed them outer worlds on the tv via usb c to hdmi using dex. This worked really well. Almost like having the xbox there. This was on the wifi which was sky about 70mb connection. On mobile network it's ok tends to be semi playable on around 15mb connection which seems average for my area. There some input lag and lots of screen tear at times then it's fine.

I feel you need probably a good 30mb connection to get the best but have yet to see these speeds out of central london. I should be there in next few weeks so will check.

Xcloud

I joined this when it first launched and on wifi was ok but almost unplayable on mobile data. Mobile data has improved but wifi has got worse. Mobile is a no go really but this is due to the network speeds. For my wifi I have reset router fiddled with settings on router and phone, but even on 200+mb connection theres input lag in halo 5 and gears of war plus other games. This just ruins the game experience. I have switched controller between normal xbox and elite 2 both on latest firmware. For example I was sat in front room on speed test connection was 280mb down 38 upload. Halo 5 booted up and the first mission was input lag sending me into enemies or massive delays in fire fights. The screen kept doing a refresh with a line rolling down the screen. I ended up quitting after 5 minutes tried other games still same issue. To add this also happened while visiting in laws on there sky.

In short my experience is 50/50 at moment console streaming works very well on wifi not so good on network but thats not xboxs fault.

Xcloud almost unplayable for me on wifi if I'm not in the same room and mobile is a no go for this, twitch based games are not recommended at moment.
