The game is a great piece of software the mt are bad. Really not worth your time in all honesty. You can play for free with spark time that rolls over.

Only the developers like myself pay in that game where you must either spend tons of hours or money to create.

Again it could be a great tool for Microsoft to bolster it's Gold but it's just another mt thing. Microsoft is trying to copy the mobile market so much. Ie Tiled this, that - the screen is tiled - tiled resources (LOL). And getting their butt handed to them
both in hardware and software sales. They need to change their tune.

I got my code on Friday.... started playing.... was like ????????............ my wife was watching, wondering what was going on... I couldn't answer her because I did not know either..??? (WTF?)

I picked up TF at EB Games and asked the guy there what the point of Spark was.... lol... he looked at me like I was on crack! I said it was weird.... he took offence to that.. needless to say Project Spark is done for me.

ITs not a game its a portal for making games. or just making some interesting 3d worlds.

I agree that it is a portal and it's a great tool. Got a steep learning curve for the more complex stuff, but it's good non-the-less.

I just disagree with the micro-transactions to some extent. I get that they need to make money as a developer but I thought this was a Microsoft thing to help build momentum for the x1 and windows 8.

It's also very PGish with the lack of blood and the like. There were much better tools before it, however.

Like the NWN Toolset and there's more out there on the web if you look supported by large communities. The tools are not only better, but if is a paid one you get your money's worth. The way some work is by making a true standalone game that you can publish
as you see fit - kind of like purchasing your own SDK/license for a game engine. Pretty neat stuff. Anyhow I still intend to play it on PC where the toolset is much better to use and you can still make your games x1 accessible. I just don't recommend it to
anyone on Xbox to try and use/develop for. Unless you want to make a simple Reach this flag, pick up a few coins, type game. It's just marred in issues not to mention it nearly did my x1 in - crashed to a green screen and it took it about 8 minutes to reboot
thought my system was done for.

It's like a Facebook game. It gives you enough to get hooked and then BAM it wants money.

It's definitely not for me in terms of creating games. I don't have the time/patience to do it and I don't think I'd be able to make anything good even if I did.

I'm certainly interested to see what other people make with it though.

As for the microtransactions, from what I understand it works like this: -

As a game creator, you have a ton of free assets you can use to create your game, but there are also paid assets too.

As a player, if you play a game that was made entirely out of free assets, it's free to play with no limits. If you play a game that has paid assets in it that you haven't bought via micro-transactions, you can play for 30 minutes and that 30 minutes resets
every day.

I'm still not 100% clear on how it all works, but that's the basic gist of it AFAIK.

I've seen some really creative and nice play on Sparks, but it's not for everyone.

It's all up to the person in charge to create what he can. And if he wants to micro trans, let them.

Why on earth get upset about such a thing when you are not even playing it? Just wierd, man
