Does this game have a singleplayer story mode?

 

Yes, but it has to be purchased with 40,000 in-game coins or real currency (read: in-game transaction vs. microtransaction). I started the game with about 15,000 coins and have gotten it up to about 18,000+ coins in just a couple of hours of playing the
game. Daily log-ins also get you more coins as well.

In my time playing this evening I experienced and played variants of Tetris, Geometry Wars, Limbo, Fable, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Pinball, The Impossible Game, Angry Birds, Flappy Bird, and more.

There's even a really cool mode called "Crossroads" that allows you to play an adventure game as you build it. In it, I earned over 12 achievements worth a total of 80 gamerscore points. It ran the gamut too: I designed the initial terrain, helped a village
fight off bandits and cure its poisoned well, freed a stone giant from a trap, gained a squirrel as a companion, solved a puzzle involving different kinds of minerals to open a chest and earn an ice will-o-wisp, fought off a treant to earn a fire-sword, helped
find a merchant's magic barrel, followed blue-prints to help build and activate a portable windmill, and earned special attacks like a ground smash and area attack and even gained the ability to temporarily grow twice my original size! And you can do all of
these things too (or make entirely different choices)! This game is worth it, IMO, through and through - you're only fooling yourself if you don't at least try it.

I uploaded a video of Project Spark to YT yesterday. I checked this evening and it has 68 views in 24 hours. I'm going to play some more tonight but won't record it. I should take the tutorial it may feel really boring but it should take only about an hour
and once done I'll be able to better play the game. I never played the Beta much only a little.

 

Is it still littered with microtransations like the beta was?

If so I doubt i'll even bother. Has potential though.

Yes and no. When you say "like the Beta was" that is an incorrect statement. The Beta never had anything that "needs" or is "required" for purchase. To Date I have spent about $10 on Project Spark. And I didn't even need to do that.

All Content can be purchased using In Game Credits. If Content is "new" to Project Spark it won't be available for Credits for a while unless the User has Premium (which also use to be Credits but now is cash only). If you do not have Premium you can simply
wait for the Content to become available for Credits.

Just to clarify, all Content can be purchased using In-Game Credits that you earn simply from playing. Yes any User can always simply pay with cash and have everything but something you are going to get for free just by playing, imo not very smart.

 

Hmm, when I played they beta it was very limited.

There was a lot of cool stuff, but most of it was locked and needed purchase or to be purchased with the in game credits.

I'll probably give the actual game a try later today though!

 

Microsoft allows us to create and (or) play our own "indie" games....

Seems to be a better idea that just port old indie titles from PC.

At least that's something brand new and fresh.
