Azrael008uk, I'm really not sure what you are trying to say or ask?

I did both Forza Vinyls and Created Games in PS. I'm not really sure why I would have to say something "nice" about a Consumer Grade Electronic Device. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have feelings to get hurt.

The Xbox offers lots of game specific things that the competition doesn't. Things such as the preview program, FREE backwards compatibility and you can turn your console into a developer machine so anyone can start creating content.

Every major game comes out for it unless it's exclusive.

So tell me, how are they offering less because they ended support on 2 free to play games and they do not have a few obscure only popular in the East games?

brandiesel1, you see it's really kinda simple. I play Games, I don't care about Gaming Politics or any of that nonsense. It is really as simple as where are the Games. The Games I want to play. They are not on Xbox. Xbox has lost
its focus on Games and Gaming and wants to become a jack of all trades service.

My Xbox One has been growing a coat of dust on it lately and this not a coincidence. With each such down or cancelled Game/ IP that is one less reason to turn it on. If MS really believes it can survive on Gears of Halo 21, good luck to them.

How this immediately destroys Consumers confidence, why should I buy say Doom on Xbox when I'm not sure if the MS Service of Xbox will be around in another few years? This directly impacts their (MS) income and is the very reason why another Platform has the
largest growth in about 13 years. If MS simply closes it's own 1st Party Games and Titles (one after another), why should I even spend dime one on 3rd Party Games available on a Service that might be seeing it's own death.

The PS has only seen a huge jump in sales because of the Xbox One reveal and most specifically no used games. That and the power was over hyped and people seem to only care about frames per second and resolution. That's why it's seen a huge growth. I don't
think it's because anything Sony offers that MS doesn't or because people are worried that their live services might be gone.

Xbox brand isn't going anywhere and if it does its no skin off my back. There's still Sony and Nintendo consoles to buy. Both of which I will buy eventually. I have a WiiU but I mean I'll buy their new console.

If Sony announced a new console and the MS announced a new console that was twice as powerful people would eat it up. They'd love it.

brandiesel1, while I do believe that would be very true (a new Console from MS with much more power) I do also believe that continued shutting down of Digital Services offered through any Platform erodes Consumer confidence in
that Service. A powerful Platform with very little support still dies (citation Neo Geo).

In regards to the Xbox One sales, it's not just the Launch excuse. It's continually outsold World-wide and is even still an ongoing problem with the Platform. This is just another factor that creates an uneasy environment for Developers to consider Games on.
No Games equals dead Platform. It's going that way with the Xbox Platform and MS is making decisions that are only making this problem worse.

true, i tend to spend more time now on the ps4, seems to be like a breath of fresh air, works like a dream, compared to the constant pause and refresh of the xbox dash, or game jumping to dash. Xbox has less people playing online due to low sales number,
and games are not selling as many copies due to such a low number which in turn provokes uncertainty in devs, who don't want to spend time and resources making a games work on multiple platforms if one of those platforms is not performing well.

They need to start from scratch with a new console. I've read that Phil would love a "do over" but with him in charge from the beginning.

I know what you mean when you say people could lose confidence if they close down games but when the games aren't ones that are in everyone's eyeline I don't think it matters much. If they suddenly did that for a big game then I'd say we have a problem.
If they suddenly said they will no longer support Minecraft or Gears of War I'd be worried, but it was 2 free to play games.

Here is the core problem with this statement. The word "everyone" and I'll even state maybe just a play on words for meaning a large majority. But the problem still remains, it doesn't need to be "everyone" or even a large majority.
Continued ending or cutting off even smaller Game Communities and Players is bad. It's a compounding problem and add duration it gets even worse.

To say it needs to be "everyone" or even a large majority is simply not true. How long until a small Title you and others spent most of your time is shut down? Seriously ask yourself that question and honestly answer to yourself if you still stand by that statement.

Stop being such a Straw Man (only Lost Kauz actually knows what this means).

I'm just pointing out that if you have the time and inclination to make great car designs you may find yourself feeling rewarded with what you may be able to create with the SnapMap feature.

Azrael008uk, a Straw-man is a Logical Fallacy in which an opponent intentionally misrepresents an argument by creating a fictitious version of the opponents argument that does not represent what their opponent was stating in order
to tear it down easily and thus appear to refute the original argument.

For example, I have not tried to misrepresent anyone's argument with a Straw-man version that I created. By you saying I did, is yet another Logical Fallacy known as Ad Hominem (most popular around here). It's a Logical Fallacy in means of trying to discredit
an opponent rather then address the argument itself.

But thank you for clearing up the DOOM and snap statement. I probably will start using snap in Doom. However in regards to Project Spark, snap is nothing even close to the level of detail and program in Project Spark. It also gets worse for MS because of them
closing PS. It reinforces the behavior of not buying Doom for my Xbox. Why should I buy Doom for my Xbox One seeing as if it is "a small" Community they (MS) will just shut down their End-access to the Doom Servers?

This is what negative reinforcement behavior looks like. They (MS) shut down Project Spark and I do not buy Doom on the Xbox One because it might share the same or similar fate.

"I don't think the community is big enough for them to keep paying a team of people to keep updating it and fixing bugs etc. They made a business decision that it was better to move those people to different areas at MS. No one got fired."

Why do they need to continue releasing updates or fixing bugs? Was the game not still playable in it's current state? (Serious question, as I've never played the game.)

Devs drop support for many games once they've been out for a wile and interest wanes. It's not exactly common for them to completely pull a game though. MS also touts the "awesome power of the cloud", so it shouldn't be a big deal by any means to allow people
to continue playing. No matter how you try to spin it, things like this don't look good for MS and it's only going to get worse for them as more and more people lose confidence in the brand. Hopefully they'll turn things around a bit with some new announcements
at E3, but I'm not too optimistic about that.

Go into, any retail outlet that sells games, and I mean any, dedicated, supermarket whatever and you will find the same amount of retail space dedicated to each platform. When that changes it may indicate a problem with the brand. I don't see that happening
    any time soon.

CodeCat5, I have Created a few Games and used Project Spark as a Creation Tool quite extensively (about 2000 hours). From what I can see from a Users point of view there is a lot of Sever Data that still needs to be maintained
    in Project Spark itself.

I don't buy the "fix bugs" line but Project Spark does have a few Features that only create more Data with time (Users Uploading Worlds/ Games and Leaderboard can be written in individual Worlds/ Games). I do see it very much as an issue with the Cloud. If
it couldn't handle that work-load from such a "small" group of Users, oh boy things are bad around Xbox land.

Do you mean that in the sense that the data just needs to be saved/stored, or that it actually requires some kind of human maintenance? I find it hard to believe that it would actually require any kind of human intervention. Of course there would be the
costs to store the data, but I find it hard to believe it's really that high unless the game is just coded terribly.

At LostKauz, the difference is, I think anway, is that Fable and PS were MS owned studios. I can't see that happening with Doom as it's Id software. If they (Id software, or Bethesda Softworks) decided to stop support I imagine it would be across all platforms.
I don't think MS would just stop support for 3rd party games. They were able to make that decision on the former games as they were theirs.
