Project Spark getting axed and giving refunds

actually quite a few people play this, it is not just a game but a sophisticated game world creator that has more quality and polish than the run of the mill game released these days, lots of content to keep anybody busy. and why not go to sony if you like
this type of game, they have little big planet which is the only obvious choice if you like playing and making game levels yourself on a console.

It has already been 60 days and I have not received the store credit. When is that supposed to happen?

 

Makes you wonder if ms have got a lot of new 1St party game's planned, and that's why they have been clearing out games and studio's lately.

Actually looking forward to some e3 surprises this year.

 

Game was terrible any way. Dropping dead weight is never a bad idea.

 

I was aware of this from earlier but it doesn't look good for MS. One of the few reasons I have to keep my Xbox One and its being shut down.

I'm not sure if people understand this around here, less Games equals a bad thing but its been a fun ride.

 

I mucked around with it when it was in Beta but after that i couldn't see myself using it much. Main reason I'm just not that creative. Was a really well built game creator though. I don't understand why it actually had to be closed. Surely it could just
stay active with no more developer support or minimal support?

Anyway the sky isn't falling because of this.

 

getting ready for e3, it will be all windows 10 xbox games and windows 10 this and windows 10 that, as the xbox is now windows 10 they will just focus on anything and everything for windows 10, from this summer there probably won't be a single game that
is exclusive to the console, it will be all windows 10 only, but that also means the pc games will either go up in price or the xbox games will drop to the same level as pc, and why will pc be able to use xbox live for free yet xbox users have to pay. we will
see whats in store if it fails e3 then i may just give it up.

 

I don't think the community is big enough for them to keep paying a team of people to keep updating it and fixing bugs etc. They made a business decision that it was better to move those people to different areas at MS. No one got fired.

If it was popular like Minecraft they no doubt would still support it. We don't know what the numbers are as far as how many people still played this, but I'd venture to guess it's not many.

 

It's been a long time since Project Spark wasn't updated and pretty sure it didn't cost much to keep it "alive".

But i guess it's a part of today Xbox one vision : doing less,bringing less,giving less.

 

^^ That's a fairly over dramatic view just because they ended support for a game with a miniscule user base. We have no idea how much it costs to maintain, but it was obviously not worth it.

I get tons of enjoyment out of my console. There is a backlog of games that'll take me at least 1 to 2 years to complete and that's only what's out already. There are a ton of games still to come.

Why some people are jumping ship because of project spark and fable is beyond me. I'm super happy with my purchase. It gives my family and I hours of entertainment every single week.

This is a tool that just needs to be giving away to the gamers. Let a community keep it up if they want and add things. I used it some and has some neat things created just to try it out. Was not really all that bad.

There is a lot of that really. Sales is another. Sure, I do not overly care about sales in most ways. But I realize that low sales can do a lot of damage. A lower selling console can miss out on games. Low selling games can miss out on a sequel or the
studio itself can go under. As for the games with low sales side it always makes me wonder when I hear some people say they loved a game and wish a sequel had been made only to admit they purchased used. And many others waited until the game was deeply discounted
and no longer viable in terms of profits.

Back on Project Spark. I wonder what the numbers where for users.

I don't know,maybe i'm just realistic.

Several Xbox exclusives were release on PC,some 1st party studios are closing,games cancelled,....and some releases are still unsure (Phantom Dust).

And right now i really don't see any good things coming from E3 2016,except things that were announced previously (Gears 4,Crackdown,Sea of thieves).

Yop,still have some cool games to play,but i see less and less support from Microsoft and Xbox team.At least,3rd party devs are still releasing games on Xbox one.

 

So if you did enjoy creating your own games with "Project Spark" you really should check out "DOOM".

The "MapSnap" feature of the game allows you to create your very own levels of DOOM.

You can design your own levels, interactive environments, lighting, sound, enemies, control their spawn points, their patrol patterns, their dispositions, buff them, weaken them, it might take a couple of watch throughs of the tutorials to understand exactly
what you're doing... but it's not as bad as "Minecraft"'s Redstone and switches.

Lost Kauz you would probably love it as you've the time and inclination to make paint jobs for Forza but you risk having to come on the Forums and say something nice about Xbox if you do.
