Project Cars

"Forza 5" and "Forza Horizon" do a lot of things better than "Project Cars".

They had a much bigger budget.

They built their rep on being a racing SIM game and then acclimatized themselves to a wider audience.

It's probably fair to say that overall, both "Forza 5" and "Forza Horizon" are better games than "Project Cars".

But when it comes to the best racing game on the ONE then they both got lapped by "Project Cars" in terms of tracks, cars, career options and racing options.

That being said there's nothing wrong with enjoying "Forza"'s current more casual style. I think I mentioned earlier that if "COD" and "Battlefield" handled like realistic shooters they wouldn't have the audience they have.

I'll have to disagree with you about the career options. In the run up to release the developers kept on about this "progressing career" and I just don't see it.

I've said before, you sigh a contract and there's some good ones to progress through, Clio Cup stood out for me but some championships are over by April-May and the rest of the season is spent replaying the same invitationals, same cars, same tracks over
and over. Now even though I wouldn't compare Forza and Project Cars in the way they play, Project Cars aimed more towards an all out sim, Forza in my opinion sits somewhere between sim and arcade ( more to sim if you tinker with the assists ) but my one criticism
of Forza was the way the career was laid out, could get a little boring but for me anyhow, Project Cars takes the crown here, I honestly found it a bore fest after a time playing.

I believe like Randver said, this feels like a game that was meant to be about multiplayer ( which in my opinion still isn't very good/well laid out ) and single player was tacked on in the hope of grabbing a bigger audience.

This has been one of my biggest disappointments since owning the Xbox One, you know I love my racing games and was chomping at the bit to get hold of this but hey ho, we all at some point have been let down by games we thought/hoped we would love and this
isn't even including the problems with the game. Sure we all know loads of games release with bugs/glitches but with all the delays this game had and with all the problems we see getting reported daily now, I'm amazed it got released in the state it is.

Probably a case as is with a lot of developers, get the game out and let the gamers be the beta testers, I fear though within the next few months there won't be many still sticking with it.

 

When they talk about a progressing careers they're talking about starting your career as a Kart driver and working your way up the ladder by seasons.

The game delivers on this while at the same time catering to those who prefer not to start at the bottom.

Also the game might have some hiccups but it's not as bad as "Assassin's Creed: Unity" on release or "Halo: MCC".

Great racing SIM. Loving the dynamic weather and the fresh new tracks.

 

Feel the same, it is not a Gran Turismo killer either! Great game though on my PS4, very few issues other than some insane AI cars.

 

This game was simply not ready for launching. It is so full of bugs that it is unplayable. Pure waste of money, in my opinion. It reminded me of the very early games with digital (not analog) controls. The steering is like fully left, center, fully right.
Impossible to play with MS controller. I cannot believe MS has ever tested this game.

Wait for Forza 6! Do not spend a dime with this digital trash!

 

I've only played a small bit of it to be fair and just did my 1st career race and you don't even see the front wheels turn they just constantly stay straight no wonder it looks dodgy when going round corners !!

 

Wierd... can't say I've noticed that. Will have to look.

 

Could someone at Microsoft, please find out, where the patch is for the Xbox one Project cars game.

You have the patch......get it out to the players please. TODAY!!!

 

Az its only formula rookie I've tried and too me they look like they don't move although that could be down to my old dodgy eyes !! I did try gokarts and its a wonder the disc wasn't turned into a frisbee !!

Also if you even dare to look at the side of the track you get a penalty of lap time invalid seems far to harsh !

 

i agree with you on that. my game wont even sync to the cloud. waist of money. they should be ashamed of them selfs.

 

seems to me they could not wait to the game out. to get our money fast.

 

Don't worry when PC2 comes out we will all have more complaints, released while unfinished. But hey no where near as bad as F1 2015, so pleased MS gave me a refund on my digital D/L on that one.
