    Yeah we'll have to see.

Angel, if you think I'm an idiot for not thinking the same thing as you then silly me.

Your opinion on "Project Cars" however has done absolutely nothing to make me think any less of you as a person.

Reading some of the above comments does make me chuckle. Even the games own developers have admitted there is issues with the handling on some cars ( Xbox One seems to be suffering more than other platforms but at least they are working on patches/updates.

Issues aside and there is quite a few of them I think after spending a lot of time on this racer since last week I 'personally' think it's average at best. I am fortunate enough to be able to play racing sims on PC which in 'my' opinion put this to shame
and would recommend any of them over this. For console only owners though it's a case of if you want a more sim like racer then this is your only choice but personally I think there's 3 racers on the new gen consoles I say are more fun than this, just my opinion
    of course.

Again issues aside I think the biggest letdown is it's getting boring. What happened to this "refreshing racing career mode" ... ( Developers own words ) You sign a contract, get something like the Clio Cup and it's great, problem is some championships
are only 3 races long, finish them by April-May and the rest of the season is spent replaying the same invitationals. As a lot are saying on the official forums it gets very tedious especially when your 3 or 4 seasons in.

Once more, just my opinion but I think people can do a lot better than this if they are after a racing fix!

Kind of glad I cancelled my order. I'll maybe get it when it's cheaper, but with the F1 game round the corner, think I will get that instead.

^^ same as, ordered up F1 2015 for £35 instead of this, I can pretty much guarantee I'll enjoy that but there are just too many bad things I'm hearing about this, maybe once it's been patched a few times I might consider it.

The games not a bad one, i prefer it to every other nest gen racer out atm mostly as when you do win and when you do have that race where you haven't made a mistake and you finally master the handling of the cars you get a better feeling than you do from
    other games.

Granted career mode is not that great and could have been greatly improved and apart form that and online racing there isnt much to do but that is what this game was designed for.

Whilst it certainly isnt the greatest racer ever, it does everything it said on the tin.

(I wonder sometimes if people struggling with handling just arent waiting to get heat in their tyres?)

Rather than start a new thread (considering most people interested in sims are here).....this is what has been keeping me busy the last few days.....store.steampowered.com/.../310560

Codemasters is finally giving us a proper rally sim Project Cars ;)

Beta started a couple weeks ago on the PC so hopefully we'll see a release in the next year. Coming to the PC, One and PS4.

So even though I've been slightly disappointed with Project Cars I still have Forza 6, F1, WRC 5, Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo and now Codemasters Rally to look forward to on console.

    I'm happy Project Cars :)

I only have Forza 6 on my radar, never really been into rally racing and with F1 i feel like i have been there and done that (no doubt i will pick it up put probably not on release).

Whilst i am enjoying Project cars i would like a racer that i can play late at night when im tired and cant be bothered to concentrate on too hard. One remaster i would love is NFS hot pursuit from the ps2. That is one of the best arcade racers of all time.

"(I wonder sometimes if people struggling with handling just arent waiting to get heat in their tyres?)" ..

    @ Boas,

I think that's the problem for quite a few but again the games own developers have admitted there is a problem with the handling on some cars/classes so it's not just a cold tyre issue.

Issues aside I'm done with this game for the time being! I guess most racing games haven't got the best/most exciting career modes but this one is as dull as dishwater the further you get in. I said it before, you sign a contract and can have some good races
( The Clio Cup stood out for me ) but sometimes 3 races in and that's it for the season and you just end up repeating the same invitationals/same cars/same tracks over and over. Ok your can skip them, skip too many though and don't expect a decent contract
offer at the end of the season later on in the game, your lucky if you get a contract renewal offer and then the whole season is the same.

I'm not sure what the developers were smoking when they kept on about an exciting career mode, work your way up etc, earn your trophies.

I found the following settings have helped me (still needs a patch though). I have used: Controller Input Mode 1" and "Advanced - Off". I have changed nothing else there. In the individual car Tuner Setup, I tend to change "Steering Speed" towards the slow
end. You will need to experiment with that one - too slow will obviously result in understeer, depending on which car you use.

Also, because this is more of a sim, straight line braking is important, particularly with the XB controller which makes braking into an apex tougher anyway. It's do-able sticking to the slow-in/fast-out rule of thumb.

The steering is twichy though and if the patch doesn't fix that I am going to try FPS freaks to add to the stick radius.

    @Lofty

We see single player games tacking on multiplayer all the time and this is a case of a multiplayer game tacking on single player in an attempt to gain more appeal.

When I started the kickstarter/alpha the expectation was a game that revolved around the multiplayer as most sims do. In game series/league setups, event calendars, reputation system, etc ( Online dynasty NCCA football is the closest console comparison).
This is how you build a community and make it as simple as possible for people to get together.

Instead they tried to do everything and did nothing well (as far as keeping people playing). The above plan may or may not have succeeded on the console but had they done that and opened up modding they would have had a very active PC community at the very
least. All they have now is another "what could have been game".

    @Randver,

After spending a fair bit of time on the game I have to agree, it feels like the single player was stuck on in a hurry. Don't get me wrong and I've said it before, there's some fun to be had, few events/championships were great but the rest got tedious very
quickly especially repeating the same events in the same cars on the same tracks over and over.

As for the multiplayer, well I had a few goes but it didn't hold my interest for long.

I appreciate some are enjoying it but you summed it up perfectly and it's how I feel about it now, it's just feels like a "what could have been game"

I download all my games now so all I can hope as I love most racing games is as time goes on the developers sort out the issues, maybe add some new content and I can get some more enjoyment from it in the future.

Still offers a better racing experience than most of the recent "Forza" offerings and as such is currently the best racing game on the XBox ONE.

Let's keep some perspective here. As mentioned above the Developers have acknowledged there's some stuff that needs patching and that some people are having a bit of trouble.

So we'll qualify it as being the best racing game on the XBox ONE when it's working properly.

    @ Az,

I've always been a person that accepts we are all different, I like a cup of tea, if someone sitting next to me prefers coffee, that doesn't stop me enjoying my favourite brew anymore or less and I couldn't say to a coffee fan ... "Tea is better" ... when
they prefer coffee unless they have to follow the crowd.

Even though I wouldn't compare Forza to Project Cars, just like I wouldn't compare F1 to WRC, yep both driving games in that sense but totally different in another.

So I won't say the likes of Forza, Horizon 2, Drive Club are better than Project Cars but I will say "I personally" prefer them and get a lot more fun out of them.

I'm glad though you have found your racing game of choice, well at least 'when' it's working properly and I'll be interested to see how long you stick with it. Not having a go but you seem to have a pattern, most games you buy, they turn out to be the best
in the class but going by your history you rarely seem to stick with them for long.

    Enjoy Project Cars :)
