I can only speak to when I was in the beta (up till about 8 months ago) and things may have changed but if they have I haven't seen any complaints in the forums.

The assist are what you would expect (traction, ABS, etc) but even with full assist on the car doesn't feel like it's driving itself (not glued to the road either). They did a good job balancing that aspect of the sim.

I tested it with my G27, Fanatec, 360 controller and even the mouse/keyboard, all the devices were capable of fluid control by playing with the settings. Wheel users will have a huge advantage in the more realistic settings but that's to be expected but
anyone will be able to have an enjoyable experience no matter the controls.

Cool I'll probably pick it up just don't want to buy it and find that I can't play because I can't control the car which has happened once or twice before

I know I'm going to suck at this game but I am determined to stick with it.

@randver in your experience from the beta how much of a difference can a good car setup make? Does tuning really count? I always struggle with that aspect of racing sims Project Cars Track List. :(

You won't find the Forza scenario of some guy tuning a 62 VW Bug and lapping hyper cars. You won't see the unrealistic results like you do in Forza.

But if you plan on joining an online league (PC is already organizing leagues not sure if the console community will make the effort) then it will make a difference. I run PC leagues with guys that spend a dozen hours a week working on setups and they'll
run laps several 10ths faster than me but you won't see guys running away from the field based solely on setup.

If the console version ends up having the community to develop leagues/series then people are normally willing to share setups to level the playing field. I don't see it being a huge issue in random multiplayer races where guys using your back bumper as
their brake will be a bigger issue.

  9. I'm picking up this game on day one on my ps4, forza will be my x1 racing game. I'm happy with the amount of content that will be in the game from day one and I'll download all the free dlc that is released.

  10. Good news about there been no racing line.this will sort the men out from the boys on the multiplayer.i have to admit to using the racing line these days because most other players do in online games.it would be good if more racing games would do this.but
i guess they dont want to scare away the casual players.

  11. I for 1 love the racing line, rewind (which in itself isn't game-breaking because it can only be done offline and online leaderboards account for its use, or rather the lack of it), and other assists. While I agree that it will only get players so far, it's
also what increases the player-base. Basically, this is where Forza's going to win out - via accessibility. What I find great about games like Forza is that these things add to the game and allow newer, less-experienced players to jump right in and test the
waters without really changing anything for the more experienced players who like to surf on the biggest of waves. With a game like Project Cars, you don't get the chance to test the waters at all - you sink or you swim, and in all likelihood, the riptide's
going to pull the new and less-experienced away from this game as a result.

From my perspective that's a good thing.

Racing sims live or die based on the multiplayer community. The people that aren't willing to put the practice laps in, learn the tracks and cars should go find something else to do.

Racing sims are one of the few (maybe the only) genres that a single person can ruin the experience of every other player in the game. The person who goes a lap down because they don't know the track and wants to "test the waters" can take out the leaders,
the person who doesn't know the braking zones can take out half the field in a corner, the list goes on.

There are many unknowns on the console as far what well see in multiplayer settings. If it goes the PC route then damage will be on (so even a tap can ruin your race), flags on ( half the race under yellow is no fun) so the less experienced will have a huge
    impact on everyone else.

This is why I bought two copies (PC/Console), I hope to be able to sit back in my recliner with a controller and run some nice clean races on the console but if Forza is any indication of the community then that may not be possible.

Why should they? Not being good at a game shouldn't be the reason they're told to go do something else - if that were the case, nobody would play anything! If they want to play the game, or any game for that matter, who's to stop them? Certainly not you,
or me. Nobody should have that kind of power, unless they are official enforcement representing the game or the service the game is on.

As for your point about how they could ruin the game for others, you're absolutely right - they could. However, I wouldn't argue that that's their fault. I would argue that it's the game's fault, or rather that of the developers, for not including options
to prevent such catastrophes. It could be something as simple as a beginner's playlist or turning off damage or collisions all-together. Besides, if you're truly better than them, you should be able to get to the front of the pack or know how to avoid them.

The points you brought up are why the majority of the PC community felt that this shouldn't have been made for the console. The devs are having to walk a very fine line between two very different communities and making the game successful in both is a very
    tall order.

This is being advertised as a "sim" and you just turned it into an arcade racer. When you turn off collisions or damage it's no longer a sim.

They could handle it the same way many sims do on the PC (mandatory qualifications, clean lap quotas, etc) so people have earned the right to race in multiplayer but I don't see that working on the console, people would be complaining that they are locked
out of game that they just paid 60 bucks for.

This should be the Dark Souls of the racing genre on the console. Not everyone will make the effort or have the skill to play it, that's what makes the genre rewarding, builds the close net community and gives the game longevity.

I agree turn all assists off for MP racing. Its how i roll in Forza 5 but unfortunately not everyone does. If people are required to race properly than the racing would be much more enjoyable.

Also Im glad the "PC community" Doesnt decide what games get made for Consoles.
