Project Cars 2 Announced

The first title only came out in May, but Slightly Mad Studios has announced the development of Project Cars 2 and is once again looking for crowd funding in order to make it happen.
The sequel will be funded by the studio’s funding portal World of Mass Development, as with the original title.
So far it seems some people are unhappy about this as they would like the developer's full concentration to be focused on the original title, however it is often the case the a development studio will more on to the next game once it has finished what
it was working on, and since Slightly Mad Studios are looking for crowdfunding it makes sense that they let people know about it now, especially since games can take years to complete.

Here’s the announced feature list.

- The Largest Track Roster Ever – 50 unique locations and 200+ courses including ‘loose surface racing’ on dirt, gravel, mud, and snow. All will have dynamic time of day and weather allowing you to play any time, anywhere

- The Widest Variety of Motorsports – with 8 different disciplines now including Rallycross, Hillclimbs, and Touge. 200+ cars from over 40 different vehicle classes including never-before-seen Concepts and Banned Race Cars

- Co-op Career – Play as the Teammate Driver, Spotter, Driver Swap, or Co-Pilot. More choices, more opportunities, more strategy, greater risks and greater rewards

- Seamlessly Connected – Socialize and compete via Online Track Days, have players from around the world take the place of AI-controlled drivers in your solo play, and get news updates on the Driver Network around you

- Pro Esports Racing – Skill & Behavioural-based matchmaking, create your own Online Racing Leagues, and Live Broadcast and Spectator functionality

- Your Home for Racing – Your own personal, customisable Test Track to tune and test your cars. Invite others to showcase your passion for racing and learn race craft and engineering with the Project CARS Academy

Project Cars 2 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam OS.

Personally I thought the first game was a bit of a letdown even after a few patches/updates so this will be one of a few racing games that I'll be in no rush to buy.

I'll let others test it first ;-)

 

It has Rally and hill climb events. This interests me a lot.

 

Co-op career sounds interesting.

Again though, not a game I'd rush out and buy. At the moment if I want to play a proper sim then I'll fire the PC up. This was a disappointment for me so I'd wait and see.

 

Have to say,i'll wait until a few weeks after release to see if I get this after the first one,which I haven't finished yet.

Like the sound of the rally/hill climb stuff but we'll see.

No thanks, Forza is much better.

 

Good game is project cars, no other racer on console comes close to the handling physics in this game. Only problem was the game got boring quickly with little to no incentive to keep racing.

With the addition of a co-op career and hopefully a much more expanded and detailed SP career this game could finally hit that magic spot.

 

I played Project Cars on the PS4 and just couldn't get on with it at all. I know some issues have been addressed but too little too late for me.

I've just started playing Forza Motorsport 5 on my Xbox and this is a cracking title. Drive Club is also a lot of fun for console owners. Both better options in my humble opinion.

I also have Forza Horizon 2 to play which by all accounts is another fine title.

 

^ dont get me wrong all those racing games you mentioned i have enjoyed. The only racing game i have played this gen that i didnt like was NFS.

Project cars just has the F1 feel about it when it comes to difficulty that makes it different from the rest. Forza and Drive club i feel i could race with my eyes closed sometimes and still have a decent race.

 

Driveclub sucks A Tall Doughnut, it's one of the worst racing games ever made.

 

They need to sort out the multiplayer next time.we dont all want to play qualification and 15 lap races.so many racing games are messing up the lobby structure.Ride split the lobbies up into different bike catagories meaning there was hardly more than 2
or 3 players in each race .it really is bad after all these years of multiplayer that they cant get the basics right.
