    Profile switching bug


    Hi, i was one of the luck ones to get a

    Xbox series X.

    I have discovered a bug with the console and after two calls with support (first call hung up) the issue has not been resolved. Let me explain...

    1 adult and 2 children's family accounts loggin in.

    On fresh power on I (adult) can launch Youtube and sign into my google account.

    When i switch Xbox profiles to a childs account I can play games however when I switch back to the Adult (my) account and open the Youtube app I get a message popup saying my childs account does not have access.

    The only short workaround for this is to reboot the console, however the issue will happen again after profile switching.

    Note "closing" the app does not correct issue.

    To troubleshoot this further I granted access to Youtube for the child account and when I repeat the above steps the app opens but NOT signed into my google account (assume Xbox has launched the YouTube app under my childs accout as i did not log into
    google on the childs YouTube app before)

    Support went through the usual reboots, removing apps and resetting the console. All failed to resolve the issue. I was told I could return the console and wait x days for a software repair but I feel this would just be fixed via a patch and sent out to
    the world once it's discovered.

    Finally I end with saying that this might not be a YouTube app issue, I predict it's a bug with the switching of family profiles.

    Love to know if others experienced this themselves.. or am I the only one?

    Youtube is not the issue.

    I just tried to launch a game (Battlefield) on my adult profile and I got the popup saying "Sorry, we cant show this"

    when i play splitscreen sometimes the second player ends up getting stuck like that so i had to switch profiles...could be just a bug in the game or whatever, also maybe the next update thatll be fixed

    Switch profiles

    Press the Xbox button the console to open the guide, then choose your profile. There's an option there to sign out and switch profiles.

    Hey there kazbear123!

    When you sign in, are you using a second controller or are you using one controller? Generally, I recommend signing out of that profile and signing into the intended profile of use unless both players are using the Xbox One. This reduces the chance for any
    profile issues.

    Unfortunately nothing can be transferred between accounts-game purchases, achievements, etc. Some games allow a game save to be transferred, but no achievements can be earned from that point forward.
