Profile pic changed on its own

Hello, my profile pic was changed and I'm wondering if i was hacked because how strange the situation is. So i boot up my xbox and i notice the gamer pic is off and its a monkey wearing a cape (keep with me ik it sounds ridiculous) and my gamer score is
0 and it is usually around 15k. I reboot my xbox and its regular and back to normal but the pic of a monkey was not one of the xbox ones so it must of been a custom image which is strange because due to my suspensions i cant use a custom profile pic. I know
for sure its not a custom image because I reversed searched the image and it seemed to be a not very popular meme from 2013 with the context "everybody just cool out" so at this point I'm super weirded out and confused I dont know what to do becuase the chance
of this being microsft is very low saying its not there image and if it was for enforcement why that image. It could be a glitch but where would my xbox come by this image. Right now it seems like a hacker but i checked my activity and the ip was mine and
I put more security on my account but does anyone know how this happened/ what this even is.

This person invited me to a party for a game that we were playing. Him and I were going to trade in this game. Except, he said look at your profile picture; it was changed. I he was telling me to give him my stuff and I said no and blocked him. I don’t
think he can do much but.... my picture is also changed on microsoft’s website and other things so yea....

No idea what's going on at the moment, but from what I've been seeing, you're not the only one experiencing this kind of issue.

With all that said, I would change your password and enable two-factor authentication just to be safe.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to your issue with the profile pic changing, after you Power cycled your console, did you notice anything else different with the account or did everything go back to the way it was
originally?

I would definitely change your password again to be sure and check your account for any other issues with the account.

It's not just your account that is affected by this. there are many other gamers that have had the same issue. Microsoft will be aware of it, and working on a fix. My account has also been affected by this. Not sure what is causing it either, but I would
advise checking your Microsoft account on account.microsoft.com to check to make sure everything still looks ok.
