Profile deleted in error

During a chat session with an Xbox live support person, I was instructed to delete my profile only, not the items. This was for a profile not linked to an Xbox Live account and so is not associated with an email address or credit card. Deleting the profile
was bad guidance and and I was told by the Chat support person to post to the forum to get further assistance. I can see the game data on the hard drive but it now reads Unknown Player since my profile was deleted. I tried readding a profile with same name,
but it won't link. I found an option to move or copy data to another profile, but when I try those options it says it cannot be transferred, maybe a game restriction of Final Fantasy. I'm quite disappointed with the poor support that I received so far, and
helpful I can get the assistance I need here. Please help!

Deleting downloaded profile?

I decided to dust off my 360 and I downloaded my profile awhile ago. But if I delete it and not my actual profile. All of my saves and data will still be there, right? Because from what I read. The only point of downloading your profile, is if you want to log in to a different console.

Saves should be fine, proflie can be deleted and redownloaded.

That would only work if the account has ever been online and is attached to a Microsoft account. If it's been a strictly offline account, then unfortunately there is no way to recover the account.

Even though the new account has the same gamertag, it's still not the same account so that data can't be used on the new account. Nothing can be transferred between accounts.
