I have a game key where, the first ten characters are missing curtesy of my rabbit. the bar code is still ok. what there a way of getting the rest of the code/ replacing?

Assuming this really occured, I would reach out to MS Customer Support. They should be able to verify the purchase and assist you

I believe this is kinda a dog ate my homework scenario. I don’t think there is a way to do anything about that.

Where did you get the game key, if you got this from a store, you may have some info on the receipt that can help you recover this. There is also a serial number at the bottom, you may be able to recover the code if you can provide that to support, they
may also need a picture of both the card and the receipt front and back.

You could try a smart phone with a barcode app installed and try to scan/read the barcode this way.
