    Wouldn't hurt to give it a try. You could also look at the case of the hard drive and compare it to an official one. It should have a product Id number on it.

    MS url ends with product id. then product number. his link says categoryid and when you search on ms store page for xbox one it only gives day one edition.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to try and help.

    From what I've seen online, the game should've prompted you to enter the activation key when first starting the game. If it didn't, close the game and restart it so that it can prompt you to enter the activation key.

    To determine whether the product has been activated, start Free Flight in Flight Simulator X. Click
    Help, and then click About. If there is no menu, press the ALT key. You should see the product ID number. If the product ID number is missing, the product has not been activated.
