Problems with Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows

    Hi!

Since the last big Windows 10 update I'm having issues with the wireless adapter for my Xbox One controller on my PC. Everything works fine after boot as the controller connects normally and works up until I either turn it off manually or let it turn itself
off from being idle. Once it turns off the wireless connection no longer works. After attempting to connect the Xbox light on the controller lights up as if connected and then immediately turns off. If I then connect the controller via its USB charging cable
it turns on and works fine. Once I reboot the PC, the controller again works fine via wireless connection until it turns off the first time.

While this issue is not critical in a sense that I can still play my games, its still bugging the hell outta me and I would appreciate any help. I've tried reinstalling the adapter and controller numerous times without success.

    Thanks!

    :)

In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve started to ship to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.

With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you’ll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC laptop or tablet and bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you’re used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows accommodates up to eight controllers per unit, and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets.

If you haven’t had a chance to try game streaming just yet, check out these step-by-step instructions. And be sure to try some of this year’s blockbuster games with built-in controller support including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, andFable Legends.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 USD (MSRP) or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 USD (MSRP).

Why Can't 360 Controllers Work On Xbox One?

A friend of mine who faced the same problem told me about a workaround, if you have Windows 10. Set up streaming from the XBox One to your computer and connect the controller to your computer. If you have a wireless controller, use an adapter.

Problems with Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows

Just to pile on with issues with the adapter, I have an issue with my completely unrelated microphone going completely dead as long as a controller is connected via the adapter. If I plug the controller in via the USB cable, there's no issues at
all. When the controller disconnects, the microphone immediately functions normally again.

If I wanted to use an Xbox headset, I wouldn't have bought headphones, thanks.
