Problems with Xbox charger kit for the wireless controller

when i have the contoller on , using it wireless, and then plug it into wire to charge battery pack , the controller will stay on but none of the controls work( this is not because the battery pack is completly dead)! Also, on the rare occasion that i plug
the wireless controller into the charging wire and it does work while plugged in and charging, when i take it off the wire charger the controller stays on and none of the controls work. Even when i cut the xbox off by the button on the console, the controller
stays on!! Then when i remove the battery pack ( to cut the controller off) and put the battery pack back in the controller, and then cut the controller back on...the controller comes on but it wont cut the xbox on from the controller xbox button!!! So i
cut the xbox back on by the button on the console and the controller still will not work once the xbox is back on.. The only fix for this is a hard reset!! But i refuse to be in the middle of a game ..and my controller battery pack get low.. And plug it in
to charge ...and then have to quit my game to hard reset my xbox to get the controller to start working again! It is very frustrating to pay $25 for Microsoft brand charge kit and it doesnt work...meanwhile the knock off brand has never had an issue for my
friends!!!!!!!!

Xbox 360 Controller does not work on my PC ?

I am guessing the controller is a wired controller as the Wireless controller with Wireless PC adapter comes with drivers on a DVD in the box which work with Windows 8 (I use them myself).

As mentioned earlier by IceStorm III, a wireless controller with a Play and Charge kit won't work as that play and charge kit only carries power to charge/run a wireless controller with your Xbox 360.

If it is indeed a wired Xbox 360 controller you are trying to use with Windows 8 you can use the Windows 7 drivers which you can download here:
